CHENEY: "We Didn't Get Elected To Be Popular" - KPETE: You NEVER Were Elected-You STOLE IT |
|
Edited on Fri May-11-07 10:06 AM by kpete
Cheney says they did not get elected to be popular... I SAY.. THEY DIDN'T GET ELECTED AT ALL, THEY TOOK OVER. http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/10432334/was_the_2004_election_stolenhttp://www.tpmcafe.com/discussiontables/books_table/2006/aug/06/was_the_2004_presidential_election_stolen_by_steven_f_freeman_and_joel_bleifusshttp://www.betterworldlinks.org/book109i.htmhttp://www.democrats.com/node/71Some White House officials privately expressed displeasure Thursday that the concerns the Republican moderates raised with the president became public. Vice President Dick Cheney did not mince words in an interview with the Fox News Channel. “We didn’t get elected to be popular,” Mr. Cheney said. “We didn’t get elected to worry just about the fate of the Republican Party.”http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/11/washington/11cong.html?_r=1&ref=washington&oref=slogin

1. We didn't get elected to REPRESENT THE PEOPLE, in other words |
|
Sure, politicians can lead the public on an issue or perhaps three, but no way they can be 'elected' in order to be unpopular across the board, as bush / cheney are....

2. Who care what Cheney says, He lost credibility a long time ago. |
|
In fact the entire Republican Party should have absolutely nothing at all to say about anything considering how badly they have governed for the last Decade. Anytime they open their mouths Democrats should just tell them to sit down and shut up because they have had their chance. They have no credibility left at all about anything..

5. They're working on 2008 already....... |
|
This business of disenfranchisement has become the norm......especially if you're poor and/or black and hispanic. It's depressing, and needs fixing, if the US is to be a democracy.

6. It's the same as them continually saying dismissively. . . |
|
"we don't pay any attention to polls."
TRANSLATION: We don't give a flying flop about the will of our constituents.
Am so sick of this crap. . . their vile and perpetual deceit, presumed impunity, and total lack of accountability.
Ughhh.
Going for a walk.

13. Ha ha, standard answer when your poll numbers suck. |
|
"We, in fact, don't pay attention to polls."
Tee hee, I'll bet Publican strategists are going nuts. Looks like Lord Vader plans to stay the course to the bitter end and take the GOP down with him in 2008. He might get a surprise, though. Those incumbent GOP members of Congress would love to keep their seats and just might decide to purge these two if they think they can save their own hides.

8. Notice that they don't even bother |

listing his polling position. Wasn't it 9% last time? Can his poll be in the negative numbers now?
Impeach the criminal already.

They have succeeded to care about them (poor "neglected" riches, who will have more troubles passing through needle holes than all the camels before them - boo-hoo) beyond their wettest dreams, at the expense of everybody else, including this fragile planet's short-, and long-term habitability (for short, all that which they don't care 1 E-12 second about, and never will).

19. I remember tuning into some TV thing and Rush was on saying |
|
how, if Bush won the Popular vote but lost the Electoral vote, there would be various legal methods to fight to get Bush into the White House ...
Of course, that clip went away when Florida held up the nation with all the shenanigans that Florida Repukes tried to do to get Florida to go to Bush (with all their efforts, they could only muster a lead of 537 votes ...)

|
Edited on Fri May-11-07 12:35 PM by YOY
as they are all untrue but in fact they very well might be.
ie. We didn't get elected to start an illegal war for profiteers. (Yes, because you didn't get elected.)
We didn't get elected to shoot Texas lawyers in the face. (Yes, because you didn't get elected.)
We didn't get elected to subvert the system to keep us in office perpetually. (Yes, because you didn't get elected.)
and so on and so on...

22. Rethug heads much be spinnin'.... |
|
So, what Cheney is saying is that he and his puppet are going to throw their party under the bus. Nice to do after all of the rubber stamping and groveling the congressional Rethugs have done for them in the past seven years.
This statement might just be enough to come back and bite Cheney and his thugs - it's a shot across the bow to Congressional Rethugs and I'm guessing it's pissing them off in a major way. Not a smart move by Cheney.
