Silly online poll in today's Washington Post Express (re: Bush & Blair) |
|
www.readexpress.com
Which leader will leave office with a worse legacy?
(1) Tony Blair
(2) George W. Bush
---------------------------------------------------
Seriously? Blair was actually on his way toward a fairly successful run in office before he decided to become Bush's poodle, and he does have some redeemable qualities and successes. To compare that to a guy who has done absolutely nothing positive and who has ruined everything that he's touched is a joke.

1. Blair will leave office similar to Clinton. |
|
Both made mistakes and were man enough to admit it. Blair will still be popular in other countries just like Clinton and he will be forgiven.

His domestic policies were more advanced in accordance with his party and the mood of the electorate, but the pall of Iraq will obliterate that. Blair may as well move to the US.
I don't think either's admitted his mistakes. Clinton's worst get less coverage, but he had a hostile Congress to contend with. Blair's no such excuse. He still insists he was right.
