Can we make a word of 'ass-holery'?
It would be used like 'tomfoolery'. One might have said, "The tomfoolery of Huckleberry Finn caused him to stay in trouble." 'Ass-holery' would be like tomfoolery raised to a power of ten! One might say, "The ass-holery of the GOP-led congress resulted in the greatest expenditure of American dollars for the lowest gain in the history of the United States."

Ass-holery! What do you think?

8. Thanks, misternormal and flowomo!
I didn't even think to check! It didn't occur to me that it might exist! I'll join the assholery bandwagon then, instead of starting the wagon myself!

Jon Stewart already invented "douchebaggery."

7. I hope assholery is already a word, because I've used it before.
Also its near-synonym "asshattery".

9. don't hyphenate it! There is no such thing as holery, nor any other kinds...
of X-holery. Assholery or assholry should be fine

And I believe that it should be a word.

I ask him how he feels about the advance now - such deals can be a mixed blessing and it must have been a shock to those close to him. "Initially, with my friends, there was a certain amount of jealousy," he admits in a drawl. "There was a general holding of breath as they waited to see if I was going to go all Puff Daddy. I had to be quite strict with my arseholery."

Even better: word cleared as acceptable on Irish radio:

The complainant is concerned that the BCC does not seem to be concerned about the regular use of foul language on this station and refers to the rejection of a previous complaint he made about the use of the word 'arseholery'.
...
It seems to NewsTalk 106 that what Mr. Clements proposes is entirely unrealistic and unenforceable. Contrary to what he claims, RTÉ presenters and guests routinely depart from what could be called the Reithian approach to use of English.

The station further states that what Mr. Clements objects to amounts to at worst vulgarity. The term 'arseholery' is the sort of word that might have tripped off the tongue of Kavanagh, for example, as he sought to describe the hypocrisy of his times. The routine use of the word 'shit' would scarcely have fazed modern European writers like Gunter Grass, or God forbid, Roddy Doyle. Mr. Clements regards such expressions as 'incredibly foul'; this is surely a total overstatement. The reality is that Mr. Clements's ears may be excessively sensitive.

Commission’s Decision:
The Broadcasting Complaints Commission rejected the complaints made by Mr. Clements. The Commission was of the view that NewsTalk 106 did not infringe the taste and decency regulations. The tone and manner of the broadcast pieces were such that the terminology used, while not attractive, were not likely to cause widespread offence. The Commission was also of the opinion that the language was not used in a gratuitous manner. The complaint was rejected.

And finally - word used since 1973 by authors such as Thomas Pynchon, John Irving and Stephen King: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/assholery
