Anyone watching those Great Kids from St. Vincent's College on C-Span?
Edited on Fri May-11-07 05:48 PM by KoKo01
It's fascinating to see the opinions of those who urged a FORUM on whether Chimp should appear at the College for their Commencement Ceremonies! Their speeches are interesting and since they are NOT Harvard or Yale they will never get the jobs that those from the more prestigious colleges will get...but they are GREAT KIDS!

As they say "we are from a small Benedictine College" but OMG they are WELL INFORMED! Gives me hope for the FUTURE!

BTW: One of the speaker students said the WHOLE SCHEDULE was changed for the Chimperor to find a spot in the US where he thought he would be "safe" and it turns out that he's DISLIKED THERE just as he is all over America except in the Think Tanks and Repug Lobbyist Viper Nests...and Wall Street who have foisted this disgusting POS on our country.

3. It was a BIG DEAL to these kids and there's more students questioning
and going to their Idealism to express their opinions. It's been fascinating...looking at what our "young folks" are into...and how WELL INFORMED these students are...even though they are attending a school that won't get them the recognition from the "Powers that Be" who have their kids in the most prestigious schools ...a JOB...But they are GOOD!!!!

6. Not everyone who has a great job went to Harvard or Yale.
There's a lot to be said for graduates from colleges like St. Vincent.

8. I know...but it's what's RUNNING AMERICA TODAY....the other voices
are drowned out. I'm amazed that these young folks are so Politically Aware and that they care so deeply about what Chimperor coming means to them.

There have been so many of them ...each expressing their views since I've been listening and it gives me GREAT HOPE of SAVVY Young Folks in a little unknown college that Chimperor thought he could hide out at to give a speech..AND...they all took this Commencement Speach SO SERIOUSLY.....and connected it to VA Tech and War and Chimp's terrible policies.

These are the kids who will go out there........and do some good stuff. Maybe they can even throw out the Wolfowitz's CHOSEN FEW who have run our country...even though they all differ they are SMART!

9. Amazing Kids....I wish years ago I had been that savvy..........but they are Internet Users
and so they have "instant knowledge" to keep themselves informed... Still...they are good.

It takes a lot of thought and skill to discern what you get on the internet. I work in higher ed and have yet to see a decent paper written by a student who used ONLY internet sources (not including online journals that they can get for free through university libraries but can never seem to find.)

hee! hee! I sound like such a curmudgeon tonight!

I'm off to see Steely Dan. Maybe that will make me nicer!

12. I hear what you say...but these kids ...one after the other..are Incredible!
Where they are getting their info from (internet or Professors at their school) they are just such a HOPE for the future. They are THINKING and EXPRESSING in cogent form what they believe at this point in their life and it's much more "grounded" than I was at that point in my life.

So...I find them very hopeful...from such a small college...and to allow SO MANY students to give their opinions. In "my day" the opinions would have been "selected" to only a FEW who were in running for Validictorian and on down.

St. Vincent's allowed ANY STUDENT TO SPEAK who WANTED TO! AMAZING! And they are presenting the panoply of all opinions throughout the SPECTRUM of thought over that "Idiot Chimp" who has USED their CAMPUS!

It's AMAZING "THE THOUGHT" by these very young folks.

7. Wow! This student, Pajak..was in Brazil when Shrub was there. Brazil picked up all
of the poor people the student had been working with so they wouldn't be seen.

11. Student saying Pope John Paul II was AGAINST BUSH/BLAIR WAR!
She's going back to "Hospitality" of the Benedictine Role...but she was looking to John Paul's inspiration as to why she had QUESTIONS about BUSH. She says "Jesus was hospitable to a Prostitute" but he didn't change his opinions ...so while we should Welcome Bush...he is not part of our teachings of Catholic Tradition!

She said more...but...she Urges the College to Reject "SECULARIZATION!"

These young folks are so smart and savvy...it's incredible!
