Hello, I must be going--a clear message from the Iraqis

Two articles published within roughly 24 hours. Curious juxtaposition. See for yourself:

From NY Times: Iraqi Lawmakers Seek Timetable for Withdrawal

BAGHDAD, May 11 — A majority of Iraq’s Parliament members have signed a petition for a timetable governing a withdrawal of American troops, several legislators said Friday. (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/12/world/middleeast/12iraq.html?_r=1&oref=slogin)

From AP: Iraqi officials discourage U.S. pullout

By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Writer 21 minutes ago

Worried Congress' support for Iraq is deteriorating rapidly, Baghdad dispatched senior officials to Capitol Hill this week to warn members one-on-one that pulling out U.S. troops would have disastrous consequences. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070512/ap_on_go_co/us_iraq)

Thanks for the clarification, guys.

1. Will it not be ironic if it's the Iraqis who get Shrub to withdraw!
The American people, the Dems in Congress & even some Pubs can't make the sucker budge, but the Iraqis sure can! He has always said if they say they don't want us there, we'll leave. ow let's see if he is "strong enough" to stick with THAT promise!

2. It's clear to me
The * admin (see: media manipulation/propaganda) has since the beginning of the occupation arranged media interviews of Iraqis that mimic their policy, even if that is a minority view.

The majority of Iraqi lawmakers want the US out. Period.
