Romney: US needs stronger military because "EEEEVIL exists"!!

HILLSDALE -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney Saturday offered a full-throated defense of America's status as a military and economic superpower, telling graduates of Hillsdale College that the surest defense of peace and freedom is a strong and confident United States.

"The right course for America in a world where evil still exists is not acquiescence and weakness, it is assertiveness and strength," Romney said in a 20-minute address to the small-town Michigan school's commencement ceremony.

Romney made no direct references to criticism of the United States' aggressive military actions in Iraq, but made clear his belief that Iraq should not cause the country to be less aggressive or willing to use its military and economic might...

Romney made only brief mention of the Iraq war -- a conflict that has damaged Republican hopes in 2008 and made President Bush among the least popular presidents of the modern era. The mistake in Iraq, Romney argued, was a lack of planning by civilian agencies to plan for post-conflict stabilization.
