Tea party face of the Republican Party may be our best friend.
Harry Reid is showing that down right crazy doesn't sell, even in Las Vegas. Rand Paul's worst enemy is his mouth. Bachman...even her crazy isn't selling in Minnesota like it used to.

If Democrats come through the election in November relatively unscathed, it will be the tea party crazy we have to thank. The media gives them so much face time that they have become the face of the Republican Party. They can no hide behind their rich protestant uncle conservative common sense facade.

Americans seem to be too willing to embrace a conservative, cautious approach to politics. But it is beginning to look like they are not at all willing to embrace the insane. As long as Republicans are forced to own up to their insane agenda, we might do all right.

And that is just my observation.

1. Frum and Co. are worried about the teabaggers, and they've
been a bunch of the sanest r/w folks when it comes to the rethugs.

Why is the RNC Defending the Tea Partiers?

2. Between Harry Reid's Numbers
(http://www.lvrj.com/news/reid-takes-lead-on-angle-98587704.html), Peter King openly advocating that the Republicans can not even state an agenda (http://thinkprogress.org/2010/07/16/king-no-agenda-please), Rand Paul's foot in mouth diesease, and even Crist who is being supported by Democrats and Republicans alike because he eschewed the crazy teaparty ideas of Rubip, this is shaping up to be a curious election season,

History and the economy is on the side of Republicans, but the Teaparty extremism is a counter narrative that may be enough to change the outcome.
