A quick note about Shepard Smith |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-21-10 10:39 PM by Renew Deal
I walk by the Fox studios in NYC occasionally. I have seen Shepard Smith, Beck, and Hume at times through the years. I saw Beck a couple months ago and candidly told him what I thought about him as I walked by. I have seen Shep Smith lots of times. He hangs out there smoking cigarettes, often talking to people who I think are mostly coworkers. He always has a smile on his face. He just seems like a genuinely nice guy. I said hi to him once and he was friendly. I think he's probably the only decent person in that organization.

3. He is the only one there with a shred of dignity, IMHO. His railing against torture is epic. |

4. If he had any real integrity he'd leave that "fair and balanced" farce of a news organization... |
|
Maybe he is a nice guy, but he's bought and paid for...just like Hume and Beck.

5. I have a Pre-Faux News story re: Brit Hume... |
|
I've mentioned it before, but years ago when he was still with ABC, I encountered him walking towards me, but about a block away in DC near the Mayflower Hotel... It was a breezy fall day and a homeless woman with two kids caught my eye. Well, as Hume strode towards me, I saw a flapping bill (looked like a $10 or $20 blowing across the sidewalk, nearer to the woman and her kids than either Hume or I. I slowed down a bit to let the woman get to the bill without a fuss, only to see Hume speed up and grab it. Now, the bill did not belong to either of us, but Hume had no problem snaring it to the detriment of this poor woman and her kids. That taught me all I ever needed to know about Brit Hume. :eyes:

7. Well, to be fair, it could have been his money. |
|
Maybe he was using it to snort coke before the wind kicked up?

18. Your story about HUME just adds to the cold hearted image I already had of him |
|
Let's see:
* Oh, a Gay son commits suicide. Is Brit Stoic or just dead?!1
* Oh, Brit trades in a wife for a newer version he was having an affair with!1
* Oh, Brit, always a guest for B.F.E.E. events. The Family, doncherkno.
* Oh, Brit, slapping down that upity Juan WILLIAMS (no prize himself) weekly.

on the street walking towards the studio. Not sure if he just finished a cigarette break or was just out for a walk.

13. I guess I was wondering when because he lost both parents in the past year+ |
|
You never know what is going through someone's mind or what they are having to deal with. He seems like he would be a cool guy to hang out with.

14. He seems to be someone who does news, because he likes news... |
|
not because he wants to push an agenda. I like him too, and he does seem like a happy person.
I like him and Cavuto, though Cavuto seems like less of an optimist now compared to 3 or 4 years ago, and that irks me.
Don't care for the rest of them, but actually I dont' like many of the people on MSNBC either. Most of these people seem like they are in the business for their own egos not for the desire to deliver news.

16. I got rid of cable between 2003 and 2009. Before then... |
|
I liked Cavuto because he was the only optimist doing news on any news network. I usually am not home in time to watch his show now, but when I occasionally see it, he doesn't come across as an optimist anymore. With that said, I like his show because he focuses on economics not politics, and I am a believer that economics drives the world not politics (politics goes iwth the money). Cavuto actually understand money unlike most brain dead media people.
That and I am impressed by Cavuto doing his show from a wheelchair because of MS.

17. Wow, well if that is what you want to believe. |
|
His 'economics' are product of his political (corporate) happy talk agenda.
Fair enough though. He is an 'optimistic', handicapped piece of shit.

19. I'm very curious about what you said... |
|
...to Glenn Beck!
Can you tell us?
What was his reaction?
Makes me feel so good to know that this smarmy propagandist heard from someone who doesn't appreciate his lies. I tuned into Beck last week, and I was so blown away at what a circus act he has become. It's utterly preposterous. Anyone who is listening and buying any of it, at this point--is insane.
We know he constantly hears how wonderful he is from the lunatic fringe, which skews his reality.
Nice to hear that you had the guts to give him a dose of reality! Details, please! :)
