1. We killed 3 million Vietnamese and deformed 4 million more.
I hardly think we are in any position to lecture Vietnam or anyone else.

We haven't properly apologized, we don't teach the truth about Vietnam War in our schools, doesn't that sound like what people accuse Japan of?

2. OK, but to be somewhat fair, the North Viets killed millions of the southreners
and do maintain a very repressive, brutally authoritarian regime...

9. We have been giving them a lot of money and industrial plants -
that we could have used here.
The Hanoi government is very doctrinaire communist - the South not so much - they are more open to capitalism/enterprise.
Hanoi does not like that, but it brings in a lot of wealth.
