Ben! Craig! Josh! Matt! Tagg!

My my, the good Lord sure took his sweet time with these boys!

Wouldn't they all look just DREAMY on the cover of 17!

Have they enlisted in their daddy's favorite war yet? Or do they have good reasons not to be fighting for our freedoms?

..aside from working for the campaign:

"I work at a real estate company; we buy, sell, manage and develop commercial properties"

"I work as a music producer at an ad agency"

"I'm in my third year of medical school now"

"I'm currently working as a real estate developer"

"Chief Marketing Officer- Los Angeles Dodgers"

Edited on Mon May-14-07 07:47 AM by BOSSHOG
He asked the five of them if they had served. NO, not one of them, but one said there are other ways to serve and he hopes to make a sacrifice someday. Their daddy said he regrets not serving in the military. I'm so fucking overwhelmed with their sincerity. Makes me wanna cry.

Per that picture it looks like they are enjoying their liberties.

9. "There are other ways to serve..."
The battle cry of Republican hypocrites everywhere.

What they really mean to say is that poor people do the dirty work in the military, while upper middle class Republican douchebags pen snazzy, half-witted editorials in college newspapers. The mind/body split assum3ed by these monumental assholes is clear: they are the deep thinkers, while those unfortunate enough to have been born in the ghettoes and poor rural counties get to act as the nation's "body," with all the bloody work that entails. They think exactly the same thing about labor: they are the "entrepreneurs" who "devise strategy," while the poor clean up the garbage, and stitch cheap clothes in sweatshops.

Other ways to serve.

Anyone who says such a thing should be publicly shamed.

39. Hey, now, don't be bashing the Osmonds
The Osmond Brothers actually did have some musical talent. Musical innovators they weren't, but they COULD sing, at the very least. I actually like a couple of their songs.

I suspect these Mitt boys can't really do anything whatsoever. I'm not sure I would even trust them to carry weapons in Iraq.

21. You can't hold the sons liable for the father's sins
Just because they're his sons, doesn't mean they support the war. I'd much rather hear their personal opinions about the war rather than pass judgment on them based upon their father's campaign platform. Besides, Romney has no power to make them join up anyways, so what's the point?

Personally, I'd be really happy if nobody volunteered for the military. Then there would be no war.

42. Apparently Mitt hasn't even discussed it with them.
"No, I have not urged my own children to enlist.I don't know the status of my childrens' potentially enlisting in the Guard and Reserve" Romney said, his voice tinged with anger.

Massachusetts residents can enlist in the National Guard up to age 39. Romney's five sons range in age from 24 to 35. Neither the Romney children nor the governor have served in the military.http://www.mfso.org/article.php?id=344

"I'd much rather hear their personal opinions about the war"... all five of them are working for the campaign. That tells you what their personal opinions are about the war.
.............................................

Josh: "I'm currently working as a real estate developer, but seem to be spending more and more of my time working on my dad's campaign, it's just too hard to stay away."

Ben: "Due to time constraints with medical school, my involvement with my dad's campaign is going to be somewhat limited compared to my brothers, but I do support my dad 100 percent and can’t wait to help where I can. I know my father as a man of integrity and sound judgment."

Craig: "I live in New York City with my son and wife where I work as a music producer at an ad agency. I'm planning on being very involved in the campaign. As of yet, I have been balancing work, the campaign, and family life.

Matt: "I work at a real estate company; we buy, sell, manage and develop commercial properties. ...Mitt Romney is the best person to bring change to Washington; he’s bright, capable, honest, articulate and an unparalleled problem-solver.

Tagg: Interests- Spending time with my wife and kids, baseball (go Sox), basketball (go Celtics), waterskiing, horses, travel, snow skiing, movies. Favorite movies- Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan. Favorite Books- For Whom The Bell Tolls...

51. So... you want more war?
I see so many people in this thread calling Mitt Romney's sons hypocrites and advocating they go fight this war. Yet wanting these people to go fight means you want more soldiers in Iraq. That in itself is hypocritical. Either you want war or you don't.

I wouldn't advocate anyone enlisting, not even people who advocate this war. The more people who enlist, the more war we have, and the more people die. No more people need to die.

I don't want more war. I want everyone to come home. Period.

34. Check this out - found on their blog:
My wife, Mary, and I have also helped to organize called Students for Mitt in which full-time college students earn a 10% commission on all of the money that they raise for my dad's campaign. It is a great way to take the edge off a little while balancing school and it enables students to play a vital role in the outcome of the campaign.
