NH worker killed after going through paper roller
By Associated Press

Firefighters say a worker at a New Hampshire paper company died after being pulled through a paper roller machine.

They say 34-year-old Leo Gonyea of Enfield was found under the machine by a co-worker at APC Paper Co. in Claremont around 8:50 a.m. Monday.

Fire Chief Peter Chase says Gonyea was out of the machine but suffering from cardiac arrest when rescue crews arrived. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Chase says it's not clear how Gonyea became trapped in the machine. Federal workplace safety officials are investigating.

1. TN worker found in composting digester
Authorities are awaiting results of forensic tests to determine if the body found in a compost digester Sunday is that of Bobby Reagan, 50, a Sevier County landfill worker missing since Thursday.

Chris Knutsen, incident commander for the Pigeon Forge Fire Department, confirmed that a body had been found in the compost device, but he declined to identify it as Reagan's until tests are complete at the University of Tennessee Forensic Center.

Knutsen said the body was found at 12:14 p.m. Sunday and was recovered at about 5 p.m.

Contrary to earlier reports, he said, the compost digester does not "cut, grind, crush or burn" the organic waste that goes into it and that the body was found whole.

2. I cannot even imagine that either, my dear babylonsister...
It has to be horrible...

:scared:

I just hope it was quick.

My deepest condolences to his family and to all who knew and loved him...

5. Jesus! I can't even imagine the agony.
It's amazing he was alive even briefly AFTER going through the machine.

I'm guessing this plant was given a lot of exemptions from workplace safety rules.

The best tribute we can give to Mr. Gonyea is to fight against the party that wants even MORE deregulation of the workplace.
