Long, white superstretch Hummer limo filled with schoolkids on a field trip
Little, lower elementary schoolkids. First or second graders. About twenty of 'em. Two adult females and one male driver.

It was 1:45pm and I stood in awe as they exited the vehicle ... one at a time. It took about two minutes to empty.

I'm guessing they weren't returning from a special viewing of Al Gore's documentary.

A mind-numbing experience on multiple levels.

Seeing that really got my juices flowing.

2. Huh? I'm assuming the Gore comment was pure sarcasm.
Regardless, the passenger miles per gallon of a single vehicle with 20 kids inside is bound to be really good -- at least 40 to 50 mpg.

3. It was probably a lot cheaper to transport them in a Hummer
than a school bus.

4. well, 1 stretch limo probably beats 5 or 6 SUV's and is probably no worse...
than 1 school bus.

But it does seem rather pretentious on some level.

6. For 23 people, that's probably pretty efficient
In terms of gasoline, at least. I don't know what the rental cost was.

But if it get's 6 miles per gallon but carries 23 people, it's getting 138 people-miles per gallon. And it's probably higher.

A Suburban with 9 people aboard probably gets a little bit less, 14mpg times 9 people equals 126 people-miles per gallon.

My car only gets 24 people-miles per gallon in daily usage.

7. Were there twenty seat belts?
I know you probably don't know. I'm just being rhetorical.

10. They have them.

I rode in one of those for a wedding.
It probably has two long side-facing
bench seats with lap belts along with
regular front-facing seats in the back.

I wonder if they turned on the disco
lights.

11. At least they were using it as a bus...
Around here (NYC), they're used in the more traditional manner:

As big fat signs saying: "Look at Me! I have more money than any ten people know what to do with, Suckerz!"

12. whenever I see one of those
here in NYC, I think two things immediately: 1)it's a rental and 2)whoever rented it has a very small penise. Can't they take a basic black Town Car like everyone else?

13. Sometimes these things are used as prizes
I wouldn't let my children in one, just because of the whole safety issue.

14. Absoulutly...
They sell books for a contest and the money goes to the school---etc... Then they award the kids with a Limo ride to a Pizza joint or something like that. I think it's great because the kids love it.
