Thanks for the insight.

Are you now going to advocate for a massive infusion of Federal tax dollars to tackle health issues?

I didn't think so.

2. No she won't
I mean...allyou need is to let Jesus in your heart and you can quit smoking easily.

If you don't quit it's because you lack true faith.

on note: In other surprising news: Iraq is a disaster, scrubbie is a lame president and it only snows when it's cold outside.

3. Isn't pickles a closet smoker?
Those wrinkles around her mouth, you know, where most women normally have lips? They speak volumes.

Lopez: Laura Bush smokes?

Kessler:Laura occasionally sneaks a cigarette with friends. In 1994 and 1995, she totally quit a lifelong smoking habit. When asked by the media, she would honestly say that it was "difficult" to quit. But after 1995, Laura went back to bumming cigarettes from friends, though never in front of George or her staff. At the White House, she might step outside on the Truman Balcony to take a few puffs. At the ranch, she might occasionally light up on the porch.

"She is a stress smoker," said her friend Anne Stewart. "She still bums a cigarette."

"If she is sitting around with some friends and they are smoking, she may smoke," longtime Bush friend Dr. Charles Younger, an orthopedic surgeon, said. "She wouldn't tell you she never does it, but it's not an image she would like to promote as a healthy habit from the First Lady who is supposed to be perfect."

7. I think she is a smoker, but wrinkles around the mouth don't
always mean that a person is a smoker. That can be genetic and a sign of dry skin. Let's be fair. I've heard from people who live in the D.C. area that she smokes -- and has smoked in public. It's gossip but I have no reason to doubt it. It goes with the rest of her. Does GWB smoke? His voice and breathing sound like he has smoked heavily at some point if he doesn't smoke now.

8. "Do as I say, not as I do."
That pretty much sums up the Republican position on every issue.

11. She has the appearance of
a smoker. The gray skin, the excess wrinkles, and not just the ones around the lips. The fact of the matter is that she acknowledges bumming cigarettes, but I suspect she smokes at least half a pack a day. She has the voice of a long-term smoker also.

Does George smoke? I don't know if I've ever seen anything about him and cigarettes.

12. "I read, I smoke, and I admire."
News that Laura Bush was a smoker – and speculation that the she still puffs away while immersed in the occasional Dostoyevsky tome – is a staple of the glowing press coverage that celebrates the first lady's uncalculated, unpretentious, unpolitical style: Upon being introduced to her future mother-in-law, Laura Bush allegedly showed her non-Washingtonian chops by responding to a question about what she did for a living by saying "I read, I smoke, and I admire."
