White children are less likely to be abducted/kidnapped than black and hispanic
Yet 100% of those kidnapped people shown on TV, including children, are white.
My patience has run out now that I see another white pretty girl gone missing on the CNN website. It's great that these innocent kids' faces are shown to the world, thus making them more recognizable and easier to rescue. But why let black girls or boys, who represent 19% of the universe of missing children in the US, go unreported, thus making them less likely to be found? Same for Hispanic children, who are 21% of the kidnapped whole.

It is good that CNN and other outlets are trying to help find this young girl...

...but the media is being biased towards white victims of abductions. Let's help everybody. After all, all men are created equal.

1. They're not just white. They're blond girls.
It's a rather precise obsession that the media has.

I'd like to see all abducted children publicized and found. It would be nice if other children got that kind of publicity too. x(

2. And this is the reality of America isn't it?
This is the reality that the Necons do not want you to see.

They want people to think that all Americans are living in Utopia and that is not the case....

10. I think what they want us to think is...
...that Aryan anglos are the dominant group in America. Dominant in number, and dominant in importance.

4. So, because this is an "injustice," the kidnapped white kids should be ignored as well?

7. How did you get that from the OP?
Didn't seem to me like the OP was suggesting ignoring them all. Not sure if I get your point...

8. Speaking about ignoring. Why did you ignore my post?
I said:

Let's help everybody. After all, all men are created equal.

And I also said in my post that it is good that CNN is trying to find this white girl.

11. So watch local news.
Edited on Mon May-14-07 10:29 PM by igil
I don't watch it often, but have still seen coverage of a few non-white kids that were assaulted, kidnapped, or killed.

CNN plays to an audience that is mostly white--probably more than the percentage of the population, to be honest. Local Houston stations do not.

12. Martin Luther King would love that

Want black children's abductions to be reported and given weight? well too bad. Watch local news!

By your logic, the report released today by Media Matters for America showing that Sunday political programs don't invite minorities has a solution:

Watch local news.

No. We need to change America, the whole. Not just its parts.
