Obviously knows nothing about the history of Louisiana (before it was purchased, and even after...), and a few other places in this country where English isn't necessarily the first language spoken and never has been.

Never mind if they want to be THAT technical and get down to brass tacks, they really ought to be speaking the Queen's English....

Why, I once spent a whole day in Fort Lee, NJ and didn't hear English spoken once. It was all Japanese all the time. :evilgrin:

The Spanish settled here over 400 years ago and the ones in the country still speak mostly Spanish. These are not anyone you can look down on. They are NOT immigrants and they are definitely not undocumented Mexicans.

You bet there are places where folks don't ordinarily speak English. This is one of them.

I envy people like my best friend, who speaks two languages fluently: Spanish and English. I only know the bad words in Spanish. :rofl:
