Reason number 3,743 why we must defeat the Republicans this fall...

...A Republican-led congress will try to craft an amendment that will not only reinstate Prop 8... but make it the law of the land.

Yet another difference between Republicans and Democrats....

8. Next week. Primaries in Minnesota.
Every Minnesota Democrat needs to go to the polls. Let's show the GOOPers that we're engaged and ready to kick some GOP butt!

Weeks go on to years, which become decades.

9. So, I take it that you want people NOT to talk about reasons
to vote for Democrats and help keep the Republicans from regaining control of Congress? Is that how you truly feel? Maybe you could explain why...

11. Oh look! More words I didn't say!
Talking and providing reasons is good.

Browbeating and bullying is what some are doing. That is the reason of my post. You do not need to "put that in other words" or "take it" any other way, unless you are deliberately trying to smear my opinions.

12. How can finding reasons to defeat Republicans and posting them
be seen as "browbeating and bullying?" If the goal is to keep the Republicans from regaining control of Congress, every single point we can raise is worthwhile, it seems to me.

15. I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific. I have no idea what you
mean by that. I pose the same question as before. How can finding and posting reasons for keeping Republicans from regaining control of Congress on a forum called Democratic Underground be called "bullying?"

"Patterns of Behavior" is not an answer to that question at all. If you don't want to answer it, that's fine, but if you're going to, please provide an answer, rather than some sort of slogan.

20. Make some up! It doesn't stop others.
According to the other person trying to bait me, I am a disengaged and not going to vote, because I don't like being bossed around and told to toe the line he made up. Delusionally, because I am his straw man, I am helping the GOP regain power.

You can do whatever you want. There is no way another message board participant can victimize you regarding your vote.

26. Please put some of your own
words in your post that indicate the meaning of your post. I'd like to see more real ideas and less about perceived attacks.

For instance perhaps you could answer this question. Are you in favor of the election of candidates that would be likely to try to overturn the courts decision that throws out California's Prop 8?

We must keep everybody in fear of some dreaded other, that something dreadful will happen so we can continue our corporate agenda that is tearing apart this country, though I must admit the Dems do at least draw a smiley face on things.

17. You have to be kidding me
A Congress headed by McConnell and TanInACan would be the same as one headed by Pelosi and Reid?

You honestly believe that we will make as much headway on job creation, fair tax policy, environmental protction, GLBT rights, arms control, etc under those clowns?

When you have some basic grasp of political reality, get back to us.

29. Hmmm, I am not clear on what you are trying to say...
Are you saying the Dems and repubs are the same? If so, what is your solution?

or

Are you saying you didn't find the actions of the previous repub bush regime all that upsetting so having the repubs take back power is no big deal?

As you can see, I am having difficulty in discerning what it is you actually mean so some clarity, further information would be very helpful.

24. Correction: progress on anything is impossible with the Rs in charge.
And even when they're not. Look at the way the teabagger obstructionists destroyed the health care bill. You don't think they'd be crazy enough to try something like this with a civil rights issue like Prop 8?

23. That reason is silly.
They couldn't do any of that with a clear majority in congress and a repub president the last go around.

They will never ban gay people or abortion from society completely. They would lose their voting blocks and fund raising if they did. They know what a cash cow this is for them. There's no way they'd disrupt it.

28. Why are you putting words
in the mouth of the original poster that are not there.

You said, "They will never ban gay people or abortion from society completely." The original poster did not make any such assertion.

You accuse others of putting words in your mouth yet do it yourself very obviously here.

You have earned my disrespect.

tata!

and it is simple, if they did that issue is gone as a wedge issue. They need it alive and well, not "settled."
