One question for Dan RATHER
Edited on Tue May-15-07 08:42 AM by UTUSN
He was on the MSRNC circus this morning. SCARBOROUGH treated him respectfully and with kid gloves. He was allowed to promo the tough issues he is reporting on this week (balancing treatment of immigrants with national security) and next week (voting machine implosion about to happen). Not a word about the Shrub National Guard story.

Yeah-yeah, it's old news now: "Time to look to the FUTURE, no finger-pointing," as the Shrub mantra goes. But the problem is that it is UNRESOLVED, like the anthrax case.

It is INDISPUTABLE that the National Guard story was TRUE, that CBS/RATHER were set up, that the documents likely go back to KKKarl or his flying monkeys.

So the question: Why, Dan, did you NOT make it your top priority for HARD REPORTING to pursue the origins of the sabotage---------track down Roger & Nikki STONE, the Birkhead (whatever name) dude, KKKarl-------????!!!1 Perhaps not while you were in that limbo period afterwards at CBS, but as soon as you were out?

1. Do you really believe Dan Rather goes out and investigates anything?
He sits on his ass and has people bring tidbits to him. They put together his material and he reports on it. If he had actually done the investigative part in that story he would have known how to respond. He is a shill. He reports what is put in front of him for big money....

4. Sure he has researchers, but he does go out and investigate
I know someone who has worked for him since the Viet Nam days, and what you are painting is incorrect

No one is perfect, but to imply something that isn't true is wrong

5. The point that is overlooked is that he had WITNESSES who verified the story
about Bush and the National Guard. Why are these witnesses never mentioned in connection with the veracity of this story? Why are the documents the ONLY part of the story given any importance? I have never understood why, so far as I've heard, nobody has ever pointed out this fact!!

9. Because that's the only part which the "liberal media"
is allowed to put into the "mainstream news" ...

Remember, defense contractor GE owns NBC, Right-wing Disney owns ABC, Clinton-smear-funding Rupert Murdoch owns the propaganda channel Faux, and CBS is ganged up on by all three and afraid to do anything anymore ...

6. Did you see Dan Rather on the Bill Moyers show?
The PBS deal where Moyers really trashed the media. Rather more or less admitted that he had caved to pressure from higher ups when he backed off the National Guard stuff. He implied that if you wanted to have a career at a major network you would report what they told you to.

I lost what little respect I had for him after seeing this show. He basically admitted that he was a coward. And the irony of it is that it didn't matter. Even though he kissed their ass, the bastards got him in the end. So fuck him I'm glad he's gone.

7. Our own government can't even obtain info on Rove from this corrupt admin.
Considering the information this man has, Bush and his crew have made it top priority in keeping Karl safe. If our own gov't can't seem to budge this man even through law, how can the media?

8. Reagan and the Bushes will NEVER be held accountable for their crimes and lies and that
is why there will always be conflicting records throughout history that will bolster their version of their legacies.

The LEGENDS and MYTHS of Reagan and the Bushes will continue because it is highly doubtful that even a Democratic administration will open the books and expose it fully to the American citizens.
