Four of the five topics that made it to the top of the Greatest Page
and therefore are on the front page are about the ruling over Prop 8. I suppose there is a small possibility that the topics have been DUed by our gay brethren but I prefer to think that we, as a group, support gay rights.

I am so happy for all gays here in the US. Sure, this only impacts CA but soon, the whole nut is going to crack. DOMA is looking shakier and shakier. :bounce:

1. I started to cry yesterday when I heard that Walker had found Prop H8 to be UnConst.
I am so very happy for all my gay and lesbian brothers and sisters that the court made a move forward supporting equality for them.

2. I was thinking about this
If this stands through the SC (and I don't expect it to) could all states be obligated to recognize gay marriages? The basis of the decision is on the 14th. That would pretty much seem to make all the laws wrong. Truth is, it's going to make Florida's gay adoption law on very shakey ground. It would tend to make DOMA obsolete as well.

3. Yes it would
If upheld, it would make gay marriage mandatory anywhere straight marriage exists.

5. I think you're wrong on it being shot down by the SC. I think they'll uphold.

6. It could very well strand through any encounter with the Supreme Court.
And the judge who made the ruling was a George W Bush appointee (I know, pretty incredible, huh?)

One of the problems with the other side is that not one of their "factual" arguments was upheld by Judge Vaughn Walker as being "fact."

9. I don't support "gay rights" I support equal rights
I want the same rights for everyone, not just gays..Claiming "Gay Rights" is like Republicans claiming Gays want "Special Rights" when in fact all anyone wants is equality..

13. I support all people's rights to equality
I'm celebrating my gay friends. They've fought and lost and now they've won a big battle. And love is in the air!
