Dems tie GOP to tea parties

Democrats are hoping that the tea parties will hurt Republicans at the polls.

The Democratic National Committee has launched a web campaign calling on Republicans to either join or disavow the tea parties.

They warn that the GOP, if it seizes control of the House and Senate, will pass tea-party ideas like repealing the 17th Amendment and abolishing the Department of Education.

The Democrats are taking advantage of the wariness many Republicans have over associating themselves with the decentralized movement. Some conservative lawmakers have tried to capitalize on the popularity of the movement while keeping a careful distance from the controversies that surround it.

not a bad idea and they should keep focusing on the fact that a return to Republican rule would basically be just more of Bush administration policies and priorities. We know what they will do, and people need to be reminded of that.
