Just Take the Money From Insurance Companies

I just saw Representative Debbie Halvorson on the Dylan Ratigan show. She was talking about her new bill that would add transparency to the death benefits programs. I think her bill is somewhat of a good idea; however, I think it would be better to just take the money out of the hands of insurance companies. All families that receive the benefits should just be written a check and then allowed to put the money wherever they choose.
