Official: No evidence of oil on Gulf (of Mexico) sea floor
WASHINGTON — A top official monitoring the Gulf oil spill says there is no evidence that oil is accumulating on the sea floor in the Gulf of Mexico.

NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco says oil from the massive BP spill that never made it to the surface of the Gulf has been dispersed naturally or chemically.

Lubchenco spoke as a new government report released Wednesday said that only about a quarter of the spilled oil remains in the Gulf, with the rest having been contained, cleaned up or having disappeared.

1. "Dispersed" is not the same as "cleaned up" or "disappeared," you fucking ass!

4. Greenpeace is skeptical, to say the least
"But green groups — irked by the administration’s initial low-balling of the rate of oil billowing into the Gulf — were skeptical of the claim that three-quarters of the crude has been evaporated, dissolved, dispersed, skimmed or burned.

They say the report actually accounts for only 25 percent of the oil discharged into the sea since April 29, and as much as half of the spill still lingers in Gulf waters in various concentrations.

“My main problem is that this overstates what they know,” said John Hocevar of Greenpeace. “There really isn’t very much data to support this. It’s somewhere between a wild guess, wishful thinking and spin to make these claims at this point.” "

5. Don't they get real dizzy from doing all of that spinning?!?
Can't wait to see and hear them attempt to cover up, spin away, or shift the blame for all or any lingering long-term effects that are health or environment-related from the spill over the rest of this decade.

6. It's still in suspension within the water.
It will take years for it to settle to the ocean floor.

8. It irks me that they're still referring to it as a "spill."
I guess I shouldn't cry over spilled oil, eh?

It's over. Time to move on. Anyone got a bridge they'd like to sell? I have a sudden urge to buy one.

10. I think that they should spend a week in Venice, LA, then a week
in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach swimming a lot daily and eating only seafood from the Gulf.
