What a bizarre world we live in. A democratic president opposes civil rights for everyone and a republican governor supports them. Never thought I'd see the day.

1. The real tragedy is that the answer is sitting right under Obama's nose

All he has to do is separate church from state.

He has every right to oppose gay marriage on personal religious grounds. But he also has an sworn obligation to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution and its tenet of equal protection under the law. If it's determined that homosexual couples have the same right to marry as heterosexual couples, he has no choice but to accept that. If Trent lot can support the war without supporting the President, Obama can certainly laud and support the constitutionality of gay marriage without compromising himself religiously.

9. I don't buy the personal religious grounds
for 20 years he belonged to a denomination that supports Gay marriage. If this were a deeply held religious belief he would have left the United Church of Christ long before he found it expedient to throw Rev. Wright overboard.

He's opposed to gay marriage because he thinks it's the "pragmatic" position to take and that the left will have to live with it because we have no where else to go.

5. He went to a gay owned hair salon. No description of what happened. Only pictures.

Then all of the sudden, he was all for gay marriage!

7. No link! Pictures! You need pictures! Pictures don't lie!
Pictures eat Green Berets for breakfast, and right now, they are VERY hungry!

10. It's bizarro until you remember Arnold lies, quite a lot. He's a Republican.
If it were expedient (and he wasn't a lame duck) and someone in his party told him to toe the line, he'd do it cheerfully.

OTOH I have no rationale for Obama's position.

12. Arnold was opposing it before this recent decision, he has vetoed same sex marriage bills before
Obama never vetoed a same sex marriage bill.
