A Japanese heatwave has proved to be a killer, with more than 60 deaths recorded in the country. Over 15,000 people have needed hospital treatment due to the soaring temperatures that have been around 35 degrees Celsius in most of Japan. Authorities say the heatwave has caused at least 66 deaths from heatstroke and drowning as people tried to find relief at swimming areas. Japan's weather service has predicted the country will have its hottest summer in 100 years. Temperatures have risen dramatically in Japan since the end of the annual rainy season earlier this month.
