"The oil is dispersing naturally" has been Rush Limbaugh's talking point
from the beginning of the BP disaster.

He must be really upset that the White House stole it from him.

1. You know what else disperses naturally? A nuclear mushroom cloud
Just let the wind work its magic.

3. Unrec because that's only part of what Limbaugh has been saying
He claimed that ALL of the oil would disperse naturally (even before the well was capped), that is NOT what NOAA said. Not even close.

5. Are we disagreeing about 40% vs. 100%? Is that the big difference in talking points?
------------------------
The Obama administration released a report today that purports to back up claims made today by various White House officials that the "vast majority" of the oil in the Gulf has been eliminated -- a press onslaught that MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell labeled a "victory lap" on her show this afternoon....

According to an Obama administration statement announcing the release of the Oil Budget Calculator findings, a third (33 percent) of the oil that escaped out of BP's busted well was "captured or mitigated by the Unified Command recovery operations, including burning, skimming, chemical dispersion and direct recovery from the wellhead."

The White House also notes that an additional 25 percent of the oil evaporated or dissolved naturally, while 16 percent was dispersed "naturally" into microscopic droplets. The 26 percent of oil remaining in the Gulf, they say, is either "on or just below the surface as residue and weathered tarballs, has washed ashore or been collected from the shore, or is buried in sand and sediments."

4. "Dispersing Naturally" is not equivalent to "Doing no Damage"
Limbaugh is showing his prowess at Orwellian 'New Speak'. The truth is the oil had, is still having, and will continue to have unmeasurable negative effects on the Gulf of Mexico. No amount of slick word smithing from the right wing talkers can undo the environmental damage from our quest for fossil fuels.
