Note to Newt: Do NOT piss off Diane Rehm.
Gingrich bailed out on Diane Rehm's second hour today after promising her to stay the entire hour. He left her having to fill the final 20 minutes with chatter.

Diane made it clear she was totally pissed off, and her were the final comments:

Caller: "Don't waste your time being angry with him. That just shows the character of a man who leaves his wife on her death bed to go with another woman."

Diane: "Thanks for calling, and our caller does, indeed, speak the truth."

Oh, my. Diane had listened to Gingrich spread his bullshit for 40 minutes about Democrats having an agenda of defeat in Iraq, discounting global warming, and hawking his book. And then ... poof! ... off he goes.

You shouldda hung around for the last word, Newt.

1. He doesn't give a shit. Nobody who listens to her would
ever vote for him. Her audience is way too intelligent for that. I'm surprised she had him on but maybe it's a requirement of NPR to give time to the evil wingnuts.

2. I doubt there are requirements of any kind, particularly for "non candidates"
However, Gingrich is pitching his book which, for a shrill arrogant wingnut asshole, is fairly intellectual. And, he is capable of criticizing Bush and the war on Iraq, which separates him from roughly 99% of all Republicans.

I really have no problem listening to the other side speak. A lot of these guys are fairly interesting.

11:00Newt Gingrich: "Pearl Harbor" (Thomas Dunne Books)
The Former Speaker of the House offers his assessment of the 2008 presidential candidates and whether he will join their ranks. He also presents the first in a new Pacific war series of novels written with historian William Forstchen. It imagines how one additional man within the Japanese force attacking Pearl Harbor on December 8, 1941, could have changed the course of history.

Guests
Newt Gingrich, former Republican congressman from Georgia and Speaker of the House.

4. No, he took a few calls.
No doubt, he had to go meet with someone who was either going to kiss his fat ass or give him money.

6. I LOVE Diane and this burned me up today
I was so pissed people in the office were asking what was wrong. Here is probably the finest radio interviewer in the country and he just blows her off.

7. I caught a little bit during my lunch break...
I recognized his pathetic voice immediately. In the fifteen minutes I listened too... he pissed me off three times with his lies.

The main thing that REALLY got me going was his saying that during early 2003 he stated that the CURRENT policy of the bush admin. on Iraq was like driving off a cliff. That he KNEW that this wouldn't work.

He said that we would have needed a million troops to have a successful occupation.

That's funny... I really didn't hear grinch supporting any Democratic proposals. Or stumping against the re-election of chimp and cheney....

What an ass.....
