1. Not me.
Someone has passed. No matter whom, I always avoid celebrating such things. Mom and Granny, both fine southern women of the old school, made sure I understood the meaning of the word "unseemly". And I thank them for it.

If it continues for more than a few days then it is just plain ugly.

5. Normally I would agree, however this man
used politics and religion which totally helped get the shrub elected, which in turn he fabricated a war where hundreds of thousands have died... People looked up to and respected this man and he used that to help get shrub elected....

32. That's how I feel about it.
I mean, if you happy he's dead, fine. Smile and shut the fuck up about for a few days. Its not that I think the guy deserves much respect, its just that people look like assholes ragging on a dead person. Its not like you need to bring somebody down once they're dead. That's the point; they are no longer a threat...running out of the shadows to kick a corpse you weren't kicking yesterday when he was alive doesn't strike me as very brave.

35. Ignore Posters and hide threads
Two important features that help in these times. In fact all of you "concern" posters I'm going to ignore for a few days, to avoid hearing DU's moral majority telling us what is acceptable.

34. What do you mean?
Do you mean if we are glad the Earth is rid of a vile person then we might die too? Heck, we're all going to die. But he chose to live the life he lived. And he was not a good person.

What happened to him WAS karma for his bad deeds.
We didn't cause it. We didn't wish for it. It just happened.

24. How was that karma for his bad deeds?
Edited on Tue May-15-07 02:11 PM by NoPasaran
I think it was "karma" for too much biscuits and gravy. Karma for his bad deeds would have involved lightning or being run over by an armored car full of money or something like that.

49. We're all going to die
That's not "Karma", that's physiologic inevitability.

Karma doesn't mean "fate". It's the Sanskrit word for "action". I guess the Christian equivalent would be "you reap what you sow". I don't rejoice in anyone's death, but right now Jerry is reaping a lot of the sentiments he spewed out during his life.

I just hope he learns more the next time around.

as days were prominent liberals who die hurts the goals of the freepers... people should keep opinions about policy and beliefs separate from news of his death, but way too many people here will ignore that reasonable advice.

15. Bad Karma comes from wishing the living ill
No one here wished him to die (or at least no one that I saw). Failure to grieve at his natural passing hardly constitutes behavior that would bring on bad karma. Ditto, those who factually and unemotionally review his own public statements and stances during his life.

I was raised on guilt, believe me, but I think some here are taking it just a bit too far.

16. Sarcasm and mockery are OK, but many of the Falwell threads are just tasteless.
If I had seen Falwell changing a tire, I would have kicked him into the passing lane in front of a truck. But cheering the death of a human being is just plain wrong. Doesn't matter whether you liked him or not, it's simply wrong.

never again will we have to listen to the likes of that American Taliban, terrorist-sympathizer Jerry Asshat Falwell. Surely I do not need to remind you what he had to say in the days after 2,794 of my neighbors were murdered?!

It isn't hatred that feel. It is happiness.
