Original message
At this point, I don't care how I "look"...it's about how I Feel...
I feel that one who twists that which many use in a positive way to bring about hatred, racism and violence against one's fellow human is not worthy of being memorialized by myself:

""I listen to feminists and all these radical
gals - most of them are failures. They've blown it.
Some of them have been married, but they married
some Casper Milquetoast who asked permission
to go to the bathroom. These women just need a man
in the house. That's all they need. Most of the
feminists need a man to tell them what time of day
it is and to lead them home. And they blew it
and they're mad at all men. Feminists hate men.
They're sexist. They hate men - that's their
problem"

Rev. Jerry Falwell

I do not believe the homosexual community deserves
minority status. One's misbehavior does not qualify
him or her for minority status. Blacks, Hispanics,
women, etc., are God-ordained minorities who do indeed
deserve minority status.
Rev. Jerry Falwell, USA Today Chat, quoted from The
Religious Freedom Coalition, "The Two faces of
Jerry Falwell"

"I do question the sincerity and non-violent
intentions of some civil rights leaders such as
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mr. James Farmer, and
others, who are known to have left-wing associations.
Rev. Jerry Falwell

"There are almost as many alcoholics as there
are negroes."
Rev. Jerry Falwell

And if, by chance, he didn't directly reference or offend you with those...I offer you this:

If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure
as a human being.
Rev. Jerry Falwell

So I say this as a failure as a human being, a failure as a wife, and one who cares about the rights of those who number as many as alcoholics and others who "deserve" their status as hated in the eyes of this man, I feel no grief, I feel no need to respect his passing. I've never done this before. I didn't dance on Reagan's grave, I found no joy in Tony Snow's diagnosis, but we're talking about a man who would have hypocritically "praised God" at your or my passing. So be it. He's gone. The world is, indeed, a kinder place...where his words will never again twist the minds of those who can't think for themselves.

Thank you.

I've always believed that Jerry Falwell was a hypocrite of the highest order and hopefully, God agrees with me.

2. STANDING OVATION!!!
It is about time WE came to the realization that WE HAVE ENEMIES, and their failures and their deaths are NOT a cause for our remorse.

Falwell helped kill every single gay person who has died of a hate crime since 1980.
Falwell helped kill every single soldier who has died in Iraq.
Falwell helped kill every single Iraqi civilian who has died since 2003.
Falwell's legacy will kill Women who die for the lack of health care or a safe and legal abortion.

I don't believe in Hell, but if I did, I would believe he is there, now.

I agree with you completely, and I don't think less of you for your opinion.

Saddam's death was shameful, and the shame is half ours. Farwell ate himself to death, feasting on the grief of all those he hurt with his mouth. No comparison there.

However, lets face it, he did a lot a lot a lot (Repetition) of fucking damage with his words and with his views.

He was everything a Christian shouldn't be. . . .

The fact I share the same religion with that man . . . always made me ill.

He's dead, he's gone, I'm not going to spend any time jumping for joy or crying over him. He's done.

Outside of the righties that drank the Kool-Aid, he will be remembered for what he took away from our civility rather then what he contributed.

You summation of the man through his words sums it up.

If anyone is concerned about folks saying something negative - just go to the words of Jerry himself.
He has already written his obit - in his own words.

27. Usually I would not be quite so hard hearted, but I'll make an exception today.
Since I also am a failure as a human being, a failure as a wife because I've never been married, and I, too, care about other people's rights, I feel no remorse in saying I'm glad he's gone. We're better off without him. As far as I'm concerned, he contributed nothing to our country except the means to divide it with hatred.

I only hope he's enjoying his "just" reward.

29. Isn't it funny how he causes this reaction?
I mean, I don't usually feel any gladness that someone is gone, but this guy is like a thorn in the collective side.

I will miss his paranoid delusions about PBS characters (remember the purple Teletubbie?) and such, but, really, I can live without that.

I don't really believe in hell, so I don't feel so bad thinking about how he might be learning how wrong he was about life, people, and the world in general.

36. There's no way I can feel anything but disgust about the things he said after the
9/11 attacks. Anyone who feels that way is a sick, sick, sick person. I think that was the turning point in my travels in religion. I mean, seriously, who would be proud to be called a "christian" alongside someone like that? Not me, that's for sure. Never again.

Unfortunately, I think there are certain persons who will cause an even greater uproar at their deaths. I'm not naming names, but I'm sure everyone can think of a couple . . . .

And the sad thing is that I don't think ol' Jerry would be surprised. He knew what he was doing and that he was a total fraud. But the power was awesome, and that was the whole point.

Escalator going DOWN ...... WAY DOWN.

Welcome, Jerry!

I mourn the passing of any soul, however shattered, however broken...

But I shall NEVER forgive his acts, including those acts of encouraging others to follow his soulless, evil path.

May his next incarnation be in the body of a crippled, alcoholic, homosexual, third world feminist little girl...

... or, more simply, may he receive all the karma he has earned in his life, in full and complete measure.
