3. Politically Influential? How about the PMRC reaction to music?
Part of the reason I couldn't vote for Gore, was his wife's bright idea— the PMRC, a direct attempt to censor music lyrics (Art counter-Act?)

Then there was things like the testimony of Frank Zappa before Congress, which had also led me to vote for Zappa over Clinton in '96— despite the fact that Zappa had died before election day. Though, maybe I'm the only one?...

the attention of the American public, leading to political pressure.

As did "Biko" by Peter Gabriel to a lesser degree.

Errol Morris' "Thin Blue Line" while a documentary was certainly art and it got an innocent man out of jail.

"Dead Man Walking" raised the awareness of the uselessness and barbarity of the death penalty.
