This is from one of the GOP's supposed "rising stars" and possible future Presidential nominees (and former Bush II Budget Director no less) Indiana Republican Governor Mitch Daniels when asked about the national debt:

The governor's most striking comment came on the subject of Social Security and other government programs for future generations: "We are practicing child abuse in a literal sense," he said, by burdening younger people with those budget problems.
