I did not vote
I think the deadline for the senate and governor primary races were today. Somehow I find myself unmotivated to vote. I have also been receiving so many emails from Obama but I have just been deleting them.

Two years ago, I was a big supporter, donated to his campaign, and went to the Invesco field when he received the Democratic nomination.

Today, I am indifferent, and most likely will not vote in races later this year or 2012.

53. WRONG APPROACH
instead of berating Wiseguy, who by the way you have no way to know if he has all his tuition covered. assumed much? WHy not ask? WHY is he not motivated to vote? Why is no longer active in the system? Why has he chosen to retreat?

By the way I get it, why that is happening, shades of 1994, and you might want to pick up a book, chiefly crack it, and find out what I mean.

Jeesus age, there are days!!!!!

And to wiseguy, we sometimes go through that and something else gets us active once again...

And if I get the gig teaching Poli Sci... I will give registration cards to all my kids. Don't matter most, even a majority, will vote either.

That is the way things are... but some folks like berating, not asking WHY??? WHAT IS THE DYNAMIC LEADING TO THIS?

19. You make it sound as though Rahm and Gibbs speak for every single Dem candidate -
they don't. There are elected officials who feel as we do -- Weiner, Sanders, McDermott, Boxer, Grayson and others. I want to make sure they have the support they need in the House and the Senate. I don't want to risk having a Republican take their spot, or take the spot of another Dem.

I don't care what Rahm and Gibbs think about me. I care about the people who care about us, and I want to do what I can to ensure they're able to keep up the good fight. And not voting does not support them.

Relying on grants does not teach Self Sufficiency and it will serve him right to find work at a minimum wage job, saving pennies after bills to eventually go to college or trade school. Hugs to you.

47. Not getting any aid?
So you're either from a wealthy family or going into debt. If from a wealthy family then I get the disinterest and attitude. Good for you. If you are going into debt in this economy you are being foolish. Either way letting the country slip further to the right will ultimately effect you. At this point it's not really about voting left or right as much as it is about letting bat shit crazy bigoted racial profiling asshats rule the day or voting for a return to some semblance of sanity.

So what? No scholarship?

One of the main strategies of the repuke party is to suppress the vote. Don't let them win.

if so, i think the explanation isn't that Obama disappointed you, it's that you don't care and feel no responsibility.

the former could be argued if you voted in other races but if you just didn't show up, then that's just a freakin lazy copout and i'm gonna get saddled with the society that your laziness didn't have the fortitude to do anything about.

sorry for my rant. but sheesh!

44. No local measures on your ballot?
Like keeping the streetlights on or libraries open? I don't know how Colorado does its primaries, but in my state there are always local issues on the ballot, many of which get decided by a handful of votes. And that's why I always vote, even if I leave a lot of slots blank. Or maybe it's because I'm old enough to remember when for many citizens the ability to vote was not a given.

I'm not pleased with him either, but I'd never take out my frustrations on my local representatives. They are your life-line to your community! Don't forsake them! Local races are even more important than the big presidential ones, for it affects you right at home.

Don't lose hope and give up! At least vote third-party if there's no Democrat you like in a given race. The more support you give them now, the more viable they'll be next time around, and the Democrats will take notice!

I don't have a point in this. Everyone telling you can't complain reminded me of that joke. I do hope you vote in the GE though. :hi:
