Ok so what am I supposed to do as a member of the "professional Left?"
Do I get a Latte as the official drink? Of course at Starbucks, they tell me they do fair trade.

What about a suit, or will shorts and a collared shirt be enough? And are birkenstocks still required or is the new uniform hiking boots? I mean I missed the memo on the uniform.

Should I carry my copy of the Communist Manifesto at all times? (Ironically these days I do, as I prepare a class on Poli Sci, if I am going to ask students to read it, I'd better read it myself, AGAIN)

What about Das Kapital? (Well it resides in memory with The Wealth of Nations, I guess the Komissar will not like it that I am readying both The Wealth and Ricardo and a little Malthus...oh and John Stuart Mill, the horror I know. )

Perhaps a little Bakunin, if I want to go extreme... (Anarchism kiddies)

And now that we are thinking of changing the TRUCK... should we consider the hybrid, or is the Volvo still required?

And chiefly, when is the cleansing of the national politic coming to an end?

Now on a serious note, if Gibbs went there... I am starting to think that we are becoming more than gnats.

7. Well if I get paid to teach poli sci
I am sure a student or two might believe I will be one of them feared liberal profs... even if I stay neutral... poli sci might have that bend to some. I mean it covers things like oh Marxism in class.

So I guess, that will make me a pro!

As to Obama= bush. no... but at the policy level there has been quite a bit of continuation of policy... but that's not because of Bush but because of Empire.

6. And if you aren't in the profession you can't defend those who are
Even if you have respect for them and consider them icons of your point of view.

The arguments made to us today would be laughable if they weren't so pathetically feeble and desperate.

14. Well that is the nature of US Politics
but the pressure must be getting to them.

As to Empire, we are close, relatively speaking, to the end of it. That will shake things up, a tad.

26. I suggest lunches of such length that a Hollywood producer would blush
Appearing disheveled and using salty language after six our six-thirty usually works too.

There is room for a variety of styles in or organization, it all boils down to results around here.

We need you to wake up liberal every morning and put your head on the pillow thinking of not only how you can be a better liberal but how you can make liberals around you better.

Being liberal isn't a job and out is more than just a career. It is an ever more fulfilling lifestyle for the best of the very best.

You've got the talent and the brains aren't a question but do you have the stamina and burning desire?
