Gibbs thinks he's playing, or perhaps watching, a sport. If you don't like my team, you must like the other team.

People who are asking us to say whether "Obama is like Bush" think the same way.

The question isn't whether "Obama is like Bush." The question is whether, to our horror (not too strong a word) Obama, who is nothing like Bush, is for some reason perpetuating certain extremely destructive Bush policies. I think that he is. This doesn't make me hate Obama or think that "he's like Bush," or decide that I will never work for, donate to, or vote for him again. It makes me realize that things are much worse than I thought.

This isn't a matter of which team we are on, and who's the captain. It's about what's actually going on in our country and the world.

I will say it again, civil rights. labor laws, the patriot act, the war, and torturing are not Party issues--and the people who dare speak out about this are once again being marginalized, and this time we're all stoned.
