Jerry Falwell was in the same league as a Klan leader. I'm disgusted by the media coverage |
|
I wonder whether or not the media would give the same type of coverage to a prominent white supremacist. Why is it that because he called himself "Christian" that he gets a pass? His homophobic, misogynistic, intolerant, hate filled preachings were not any more valid simply because he succeeded in convincing 28% of the uneducated and ignorant population. Yet he is being treated as some sort of a legitimate figure in politics and religion.
As far as I'm concerned, this man doesn't even deserve a headline. And to the minority here who feel like we shouldn't "dance on his grave", I have one question for all of you: Would you feel the same way if it had been a Klan leader? Falwell was no different.

I'll just sink into old movies for the duration.
I didn't even know he'd keeled over until I checked DU.

The problem is the lack of insight by the media on just how hateful the man really was in his beliefs.

4. The corporate media made him! |
|
And made money off of him- so of course they're going to ensure that he's enshrined.
