It was a poor decision, regardless of however true it might be.

the "professional left" who feels that Obama = Bush.

"professional left" is a made up term... |
|
which nobody can figure out what he really means other than it's an insult of some kind
and he is equating anybody who protest an Obama policy that is continued from the Bush era as "Obama = Bush"
I don't think Obama = Bush but I am not happy with many of his Bush created policies

23. Which insulted the viewers/readers |
|
Which also insulted the viewers/readers of those people who agree with them.
He also insulted people who want "Canadian health care", who ever they are.
And he insulted people who "Want to close the DoD" who ever they are.
And he suggested they all neede "to be drug tested"
He was making a broad brush attack against the left, attempts to narrow it down to a handful of professionals isn't going to work because his statements were broad and hyperbolic. You can't claim he was both exaggerating, and being narrow and focused at the same time.

Is there a seat at the table for "liberals" anymore and if liberals think there is, are they fooling themselves? This messaging is becoming way too frequent when Party leaders should be focusing on the political opposition.

14. Yes, immediately. He obviously has strong negative feelings about the part of the |
|
Democratic party who was most solidly behind the coming to power of his employer, and he has no problem with stating this publicly and repeatedly. He does a disservce to the party, the administration and the American people by indulging in this elitist ego exercise. The fact that he is very articulate and obvioudsly a quick thinker indicates to me that he expressed his true feelings about us on the left- this man has no use for us at all, nothing but contempt for us.
I have just emailed the White House urging him to resign immediately for the good of all of us and, as I stated in that email, he could always find a job with Fox News...
Go now, Mr. Gibbs -- you are working for the wrong people and you are not an asset.
Mark Lifelong left/liberal Democrat and voter, veteran, and retired Union Steward...everything you hate, Mr. Gibbs.

which makes me not trust the President. It's not right to say the things he's said to those of us who worked our butts off and sent money to get Obama elected. So what, now we're just drug addled critics? It's not a good feeling knowing so many of us are just a pain in his backside. Way to rally the base huh? It really makes me question their commitment to democrats and now I question "who are these people"?

40. The base that never supported Obama in the first place? |
|
The base that has continually criticized and found fault with this administration wherever possible? That base? Gee, can't understand WHY there might be some rancor there.
So no, he shouldn't resign. His words found their mark, he called people out on their behavior and now they're crying about it. That's not cause for a resignation, just proof that the spokesman knows how to use his words to grand effect. Maybe they should give him a raise.

31. Gibbs is a reflection of the Obama Administration. |
|
Is Obama really prepared to throw the progressives under the bus? Three months before an election?
The progressives got Obama elected. He would not be in office now were it not for the progressives. To allow Gibbs to throw them under the bus and insult them in the manner he did is not acceptable. Gibbs needs to go. (As well as a few others who have been working against the progressives.)

If he had come up IN SUPPORT of the so-called Left (which is actually usually pretty middle-of-the liberal road), then he should be asked to resign.
