Resolved: We are united as Democrats on many more issues and policies than we are divided |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 01:05 PM by bigtree
Notwithstanding opposition from self-described Democrats who have fundamental differences with particular policies and initiatives, our Democratic party is still the most effective vehicle for advancing our progressive agenda through our political system into action or law.

2. The democratic party is very big these days |
|
The GOP has become so marginalized by their extreme right wing, that almost anyone qualifies as a democrat. Which is why you can have conservatives arguing with progressives, and they are both democrats.

4. Is keeping Democrats in power one of those we are united on? |
|
Many times, I question if it is or not.

9. Resolved: Democratic politicians who advocete Republican positions |
|
do so to the detriment of the Democratic party and need to be removed from office.
Let's try voting for positions, not (D) behind the name. THAT will strengthen the party.

12. And when the entire party structure backs the DINO as the safe bet, |
|
and actively works against the primary candidate who holds to Democratic ideals?
Give a voter a choice between a Republican and a Democrat who acts like a republican, and they will choose the real republican.
What is the difference between losing to a republican and winning with a democrat who votes republican?

. . . you'll likely find them with the mainstream of the party on most key legislation.
I do understand opposing someone because of their support (or lack of) for singular issues, like rights or needs. However, the ideal of our party is to organize around those issues we manage to agree on, and, hopefully work toward the resolution of the rest. That's the rationale for supporting advancing candidates under our Democratic banner who we may well disagree with on some issues.

6. That's about the third of it.... |
|
Another third are independents and the last third are the publickers.
So, we are in essence a minority, eh?
And now the spokesperson for the main democrat has opened his piehole and created disunity among us? WTF?
