I am led to the conclusion that Robert Gibbs should resign or be fired |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 04:19 PM by bluestateguy
I am known here as pretty unapologetic supporter of this president. I still am. As someone who values teamwork in politics, we have made many demands upon the liberals that they compromise on numerous issues from health care to financial reform to the stimulus and many others. With very few exceptions, they have obliged. The liberals in Congress have proven to be some of the MOST pragmatic and compromising people in the political arena today. Again, with very few exceptions, the liberal bloggers and interest groups have also obliged, even when the legislation that emerged fell short of their ideal expectations. The unions and Moveon.org for example, loyally campaigned to push the health care bill across the finish line, even though the public option was killed. Even Howard Dean supported passage of the final bill. They do not deserve to be called "retarded" (Rahm) or have their intelligence insulted by a mediocre press secretary. This type of disrespect for constituents should not be accepted. Teamwork is a two way street, demanding loyalty from the team's leaders and the followers.
To avoid making the matter into a media frenzy, I would have Gibbs exit sometime right in the middle of Labor Day weekend. And Rahm should be canned too.

4. Whichever as long as they leave. |

Although I think of myself as moderate, apparently I prefer liberal positions, not because they meet ideal expectations but because I think they would work better and cost less.

I know it was hard to have to write this but your clarity and ability to sperate loyalty from competance is much appreciated. Robert Gibbs does much damage to this WH and desertves to be dismissed.

It has gotten pretty sad from our perspective. Nobody has our backs. But we are always asked to have their's covered. I don't know who they are trying to impress.

15. As a critic of administration policy , I thank you and agree |
|
Gibbs did not serve Obama with those words, he served himself, and that is the problem with the way he does his job, it is for him, about Gibbs, not about Obama. It is a hard job, and it takes a very special person to do it. He is not that person. He should be fired.

Yes, as we head into election season, if this administration wants to give its foot soldiers anything other than the "golden trickle down" feeling that's been dampening so many spirits, Gibbs needs to go.
He was one of the too-many uninspired choices for staff/cabinetry anyway...

18. The Freudian slipped on a banana peel and busted his ass. Poor Gibbsy |
|
couldn't help it. He'd been around so much Liberal-bashing that it just slipped right out of his mealy little mouth without the six-second delay catching it.
Great post, bluestateguy.
RECCED for sure.

This is how you're really thought of. Despite your hardcore support for Obama here, you dared utter a single criticism, and hence you're now useless.

but the same sloppy eater will make another stain any moment.

23. The difference in how Gibbs, who screwed up big time and we saw it all |
|
and Shirley Sherrod, who had edited video shown by RW hacks, then got not so much as a question before being canned says some rather unflattering things about this administration.
Fire a black woman who has served the public well for years without even getting the whole video. Fire her because she was going to be on TV and a lot of comments would ensue.
Shrug off Robert Gibbs when the whole nation/world saw the blatant disregard he has for the Democratic left.
Yeah, Gibbs should be canned, along with Tim and Rahm. There are some very rotten apples stinking the WH up.

What you are saying is so true. That is most likely why there is so much talk about it. Most people can see that it was a low blow, an incredibly low blow, and uncalled for.
