Compare actions by administration: Shirley Sherrod v Robert Gibbs
Shirley Sherrod victimized by RW smear with edited video gets fired by Dept of Ag without so much as a question let alone full viewing of the video of her speech. They wanted her out FAST, pull over, lady, you've got to resign because you're gonna be on the TV!

Robert Gibbs, standing firm in his attack against the 'professional left' full text and in full view for the world to see, still yammering as official voice of Obama administration.

What is it?

Gender?

Race?

Different strokes strikes for different folks?

What?

3. Hard to know.

Could have been anything from a made up contriversy, to someone in Aggroculture area overreacting.

I once heard many of the tens of thousands of intelligence people in the USA are in agroculture. LOL it was on a TV show Burn Notice. LOL, thats credible right LOL?

Although think it is more of a club now. Not sure if that is true, but makes sense.

Especially if they really pulled off the Musano monopoly.

Someone slipped on TV, someone said she does not deserve to be in the 'agency' I thought that was interesting also.

But that is all conjecture.

Then again another reporter on a different topic mentioned 'when we settled the planet with people' seemingly indicating he wanted to give the idea that he was a settler of earth.

So you never can tell what kind of jokes the news people are doing.

This is total conjecture, and not sure if it is correct at all, just thinking outloud.

I am just joking around mostly. Although I figure monsano is connected. And heard AIG was also, but then again I group the entire big banking, and some intelligence, and multinationals together.

21. snark noted and rolled of my back
Fact that snark was given with no redeeming contribution to the discussion noted and pathetic.

5. I think it's fairly simple: Obama agrees with him.

All indications are that Obama feels exactly the same way. And if that's true, there's absolutely no reason why Gibbs would either be asked to resign, or offer his resignation.

8. Nice try, Shirley Sherrod was suspected of racism, Robert Gibbs
Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 05:13 PM by LoZoccolo
is criticizing how people think, people who don't matter because they can't tell the difference between Obama and Bush*. Nice try though.

15. So if I accused you of racism...
...would you be okay with being kicked off DU without any chance to defend yourself?

What they did was so much, much, much worse than that, of course: they deprived a woman of her job and for awhile of her reputation, while taking the word of an ass like Breitbart who had ALREADY SHOWN HIMSELF TO BE A DEPRAVED LIAR.

And please, do tell us the names of these "people who don't matter" because they "can't tell the difference between Obama and Bush". Apart from posters to DU, FDL and what-have-you, that is -- because as we all have been told all day now, Gibbs wasn't speaking to *them*. He was only speaking to "professional leftists". So please, identify even one or two in that group who have EQUATED Obama and Bush.

And while we're at it: if Gibbs was addressing "people who don't matter", then one has to question his judgment as the White House press secretary. A person in such a position should know better than to waste their breath on people who don't matter, nor should they get their dander up at the opinions of people who don't matter.

16. Suspected of racism? By whom?
A completely insane Rightwing blogger and Fox News? Yet, they couldn't get rid of her fast enough, without even considering the source? Same thing with ACORN, despite so many people all over the internet trying to get their attention?

Face, to them some people are expendable and some are not. Rightwing nutjobs' opinions count far more with this administration than their own base.

Now, try to explain away Gibbs smear job of Dean, condoning an ad that claimed Bush was better on National Security than Dean would be, if you can.

17. She was not suspected of ANYTHING. How could she be, they didn't watch the whole thing!
She was fired because Obama's people are terrified of FOX viewers.

People with that little moral courage are ill suited for governance. Period.

20. People who really help people through their work for the public get axed
People who villianize a loyal, traditional DEM base get, well what? Heck of a job Robert?

I won't even get into the race question because it really shouldn't be an issue, but perhaps it really is.

10. Apparently they were embarrassed by what they thought Ms Sherrod said
And applying the same standard to Gibbs, they were not embarrassed by his remarks.

Somebody in this administration has his head way up his ass. And I hope it isn't the President.

I don't want to name the weak link in this administration. Let's just call him Shmahm Shmemanuel.

After all, as the official mouthpiece for this administration, he is simply giving voice to their thoughts:shrug:

12. Gibbs felt comfortable making that statement because Rahm
makes similar ones. And if they have a boss that agrees with it no one's going to get fired.

13. It's perfectly safe, in fact encouraged to attack 1 minority group: DFHs
You cannot be a DFH and get any respect. Doesn't matter what you look like or what your income is.
If you have the hippie taint, you are scum, period.

14. People will try to make the case she was a racist. They IGNORE the fact that NO ONE CHECKED
As usual, the right wing merely hints and the white house acts.

Anyone who calls her a racist is simply using right wing talking points that even the right wing has abandoned.
