President Barack Obama has lost the most trusted man in the Hispanic media.
Ramos must need a drug test too.

=====

Univision’s Jorge Ramos, an anchor on the nation’s largest Spanish-language television network, says Obama broke his promise to produce an immigration reform bill within a year of taking office. And Latinos are tired of the speeches, disillusioned by the lack of White House leadership and distrustful of the president, Ramos told POLITICO.

“He has a credibility problem right now with Latinos,” Ramos said. “We’ll see what the political circumstances are in a couple of years, but there is a serious credibility problem.”

The shift in tone among Hispanic opinion makers is helping solidify a narrative about Obama among Latino voters. They held great hopes for the president — given his promise in a May 2008 interview with Ramos to draft an immigration reform bill during his first year in office — but he has deeply disappointed them so far.

“Latinos voted overwhelmingly for President Obama, and they expected him to keep his promise and he broke his promise,” said Ramos...

An administration official pointed to the president’s accomplishments on immigration reform — his work with senators on a legislative framework, pressing Republicans to step up and delivering the speech last month to restart the discussion. But until a few Republicans break ranks, the official said, Obama is stymied.

For years, they said, Democratic leaders told Hispanics to be patient; now, their patience has run out.

====
This is the way President Obama operates. At some point Democrats, including the crowd that still thinks Barack Obama is their boyfriend, need to wake up and realize that the guy we voted for isn't going to do squat unless we force him to. Read More......

12. that is exactly what you are!! We DO NOT have a majority in the Senate
No matter how many times you and your ilk are told that, no matter how much evidence is presented as a cold hard slap in the face, you STILL DON'T GET IT!!! I can't figure out the reason for the life of me. Are those that bitch the most no matter what former Kucinich or Hillary supporters that are still angry? Do some of the left have an issue with race deep down and cloak that racism in ridiculous arguments with no foundation!

Again, the dems DO NOT have a majority in the senate!!!! If we did, we would at least have a public option and maybe medicare for all as an example. So what, would you rather have Obama do NOTHING than to try and at least take a small step in the right direction?? All you people are accomplishing is an almost guarantee that Obama will have to deal with a new senate majority leader from the right and possibly a new burnt orange colored speaker of the house!!! Maybe if you'd tout what has been done instead of whining, we would get a bigger majority in the fall!!! Some dems have an uncanny way of shooting progress in the foot!!!!

14. So tell me, since I obviously do not understand the American System
Majority Leader Reid is a Republican? And the heads of committee, like I don't know Chairman Dodd are Republicans?

Thank you... I guess I missed the memo as to when they changed parties. Good to know that Mitch McConnell is a Democrat...

Now if you want to be exact in your use of terms, you would not be this ridiculous and claim what is plainly WRONG to any objective observer. To claim that we don't have the majority when we have control of all committees and the majority leader is a dem... is out right there with INGSOC's war is peace.

29. ridiculous
We have close to a filibuster proof majority. The republicans managed to get their legislation through in the 80's and 90's when they had 55 seats in the Senate and perhaps 11% majority in the House. That crap about not having enough votes is simply that, crap. You do not need 60 seats or 65 seats if you have courage and leadership. I supported Obama financially and politically and I am frustrated that the strategy is always to negotiate from a point of weakness.

go on and pick two books up. One on how to win friends and influence people. They have it often at the local Barnes and Noble for cheap. The other... is a basic poli sci 101 book.

It is quite obvious you do not understand poli sci. Frustrated voters tend to stay home in the United States. This is a HISTORIC Pattern. I am sure you can find a few books on voting behavior. I am just pointing to that thing you seem not to understand called HISTORY.

off in the way folks sometimes do when they post text from articles but want to add a comment of their own.

I stand corrected.

That said, I find it interesting that you plucked out the most divisive quote you could find from that rant of his and prominently posted it in the block of your OP. One sure to fan flames. I'm sure it will provoke some "un-minced" words from other DU'ers, for sure. Not sure how productive that is, but, what the hey: it's your OP.

There are realities that can only resolved with legislation that the administration at least truly tries to get passed into law.

... and that it is not the Democrats.

Latinos know because every single day the Republicans remind them that RW America is anti-Latino and anti-immigrant and anti-brown people.

Grijalva seemed pretty sure that Latino voters would remember that in the polling booth.

46. Why do people always seem to think that there is one official member of every minority
who speaks for the millions of other members of that minority?

We saw it here plenty during the Rick Warren fiasco, when LGBT people were told again and again that they were obviously just filled with poutrage for having a problem with the whole thing because Melissa Etheridge's girlfriend was OK with it.

I know this is a very bold statement, but it could well be that Ramos and Grijalva, being two different people, have different but equally sincere opinions on a subject.
