Has Kucinich Made A Statement On gibbs' comment?
I really do wonder what he thinks.

1. Gibbs showed himself to be a fool

while thinking he was being witty and clever by attacking the progressive movement. Grayson looks more presidential with every appearance.

2. And This Would Matter How???
So we can beat this dead horse for another day or more? Kudos for Congressman Kucinich for not responding to what is a tempest in the teapot. Seems he's grown some skin others should do as well. I'm sure the corporate media would love for him to do the poutrage thing...while they wouldn't give him the time of day for his other proposals. All this does is inflames raw nerves and will lead to further alienation between Democrats not either further a positive, progressive agenda or work to get this administration to pay greater attention to our issues and opinions.

3. Has this been in the media outside MSNBC?
I don't normally watch network news.

5. Not Really...
I posted that the other day I was helping out at the local Democratic party office doing some polling...I talked to a dozen people over an hour. Not once did the name Gibbs or "professional left" come up in conversation. And these were all registered Democrats...btw all said they are planning to be at the polls in November and fear the rushpublicans coming back to power.

:hi:

7. So they should be lauded for being uninformed?
People on DU always certain things aren't a "big deal" outside of DU, but that's not true. Family, friends, colleagues are always aware of these issues.

8. Yes They Are Aware...
...of the overall political temperature. They see the constant bickering and condemn all involved. Their big deals are keeping food on the table and a roof over their heads. It's about how are they gonna pay for healthcare or if their local schools are going to have to fire teachers. The personalities mean nothing when you're struggling to keep afloat. Most were more concerned about the passing of an emergency bill to help pay for teachers and first responders than the "professional left". That's called being selectively informed.

10. That's what I figured.
Thanks. I haven't volunteered nor assumed my position at the precinct this year. I thought about asking the Marshall campaign if they need anything. The reason I asked is there hasn't been anything in the newspaper here about it.

12. Not Hearing Much From The Mighty Wurlitzer Either...
I don't think faux is doing much on this and its not the big issue on hate radio. Methinks they're just sitting around laughing at the circular firing squads and hand wringing.

This was the first time I did the phones this year and will probably do canvassing next month. Many campaigns are short-handed...partly cause it being mid-terms and there's not the excitement of a big election. Also many volunteers are going back to school and that's why I got a call. I couldn't say no. There's a lot at stake in November and I'll be damned if the GOOP gets any traction in this area.

Cheers...

6. I really don't see how this is a "dead horse"
Just because some posters want it to be? And, any accusations of alienation should be directed at Mr. Gibbs and the WH, not DU posters.

15. Directed At Both Sides...
What's the end game here? OK, Gibbs is an ass...and he said something I consider to be petty and misdirected, but I'm not the "professional left"...I don't get paid to play on here (au contrare, I pay this place for the privilidge of letting me spew). So what do you want? Gibbs should quit? Fine. Then what? How does this help turn the economy around? End two wars for profit? All I see here is a pissing match where the only winners are those who want to divide and distract from issues that really matter.

13. I just watched him on one of the morning shows....
and he totally copped out! I was shocked and annoyed by it actually. George Stephanopoulos asked him if liberals really thought the Obama administration wasn't doing enough and Kucinich said that even though Obama has done a lot, we still need more jobs.

Um, ok. I'll agree that the unemployment rate is too high, but seriously Kucinich? Liberals are mad over the economy?

:wtf:

If he said anything better, I didn't hear it. I had to change the channel for the sake of my own blood pressure.

16. I think it was the smart thing to do with the election coming in a few
months. He knows that perpetuating in-fighting is not in the party's best interest right now, so I think he made the smart political move. But I do wonder what he really thinks.
