Your prediction: Think any DEM Pres candidates will attend Falwell's Funeral? |
|
Edited on Tue May-15-07 05:19 PM by RiverStone
Falwell represented the antithesis of DEM values - in particular, tolerance. I'd be surprised to see a DEM candidate attend.
I'm sure the rethugs will be fighting for a parking spot.
What do you think?

3. Not if they want to get elected. |
|
I mean, what Democrat in their right mind would vote in the primary for someone who showed up at Falwell's funeral?

5. It Would Be Hypocritical |
|
They were not friends or supporters of him in life, they should not be supporters of him in death. If asked for a statement, it should be something like "He was an inspiration and influence to many who will surely mourn his passing."
To go to his funeral or make an overtly positive statement would be false.

Send flowers but the campaign trail is much more relevant. Hillary can always send Bill to CYA.

16. If the Big Dog shows up, I will lose every ounce of respect I have for him... |

...because Falwell was behind the bogus "Clinton Chronicles."
There are some people that shouldn't be mourned on ANY level - Falwell is one of them.

9. I think they should ALL attend........together..... |
|
with their families. All of them dressed in the deepest mourning. Obama and Hillary standing next to each other. Afterwards, if any media approaches, they should wave them off as if too distraught to speak.
In fact, I think they should rent a stretch black Hummer, and carpool.

15. I think many on DU would see attending... |
|
As nothing more then pandering for southern conservative votes - not to mention total hypocrisy!
They would be slammed on DU; of course, DU does not represent middle of the road DEMS. Like a few others on this thread, attending a well known bigot's funeral could be a deal breaker when I ponder who to vote for in the primaries.
Let's hope it's a NON issue.
