The biotechnology firm ArborGen has asked the USDA for permission to extend, and allow to flower, an experimental field trial of genetically engineered cloned eucalyptus trees in Alabama. The trees have been genetically engineered for cold tolerance and for delayed or reduced flowering. The trees have also been engineered with an unknown "confidential" marker gene.

3. read the article.
it's an invasive species for starters. why does alabama need a *new and improved* version of a tree that isn't even supposed to be there?

4. I'm pretty sure human beings aren't native to Alabama.
Is there a legitimate reason they shouldn't be growing these trees?

9. Is there a difference between evolving and "creating" a tree and plopping it down in Alabama?

2. When they cause genetic pollution and accidentally spread to
eucs already planted, and then the seeds spread and germinate in various places, are the owners of the land where they show up going to get sued by ArborGen like Percy what's-his-name in Canada was by Monsanto???

Just say no to GMOs and their genetic POLLUTION.
