Is Obama a Professional Liberal?
Or what?

A professional centrist?

Is there a great divide between where most of us are and where Obama is?

16. More likely conserva-dem
or neo-dem. I don't think the term 'liberal' can be used accurately in any way with Obama.

17. Neo liberal was the term used in my political science class I took a couple of years back.
Edited on Thu Aug-12-10 01:55 PM by notadmblnd
At the time both I was left with the impression that neo conservatives and neo liberals were very similar in their ideology on certain things.

25. That was a couple years ago
I'm a college professor and most of the colleagues I run into at various conferences seem to think Obama is centrist, if not more to the right. I imagine a new term to describe his stance will soon be part of the lexicon.

;)

12. What is that cartoon character in your signature line?
Edited on Thu Aug-12-10 01:38 PM by MineralMan
Looks like something from Dr. Seuss. It's sorta cute.

And what does that blue star represent. Is it a military thing or something?

18. Star-bellied sneeches have stars upon thars.
It's about prejudice-baiting for profit. One of Dr. Seuss's more activist works, like the Lorax and the Butter Battle Book.

33. We can all go through the machine a billion times and I'll still be able to discern quite well
who is who and what is what because only for a time can what is inside be hid.

This is not a question of stars or none on thars but of if sneeches at all are on the beaches.

See, these sneeches are sneeches because of what is inside not necessarily by birth, education, nor anything that can be bought or sold.

A (D) or an (R) or an (I) really isn't so different than a star or none on thars. They can go into a sly salesman's machine and stamp any one of those things on them but inside they are still sneeches or not sneeches at all.

20. no, most of the rest are people who worked their butts off to GOTV
for him, only to disappointed by his "must not rock the boat" actions.

Name me one time where the Republicans bent over backwards to accomodate the Dems while bush was pretzledent? This administrations stance since the beginning has not only been accomodating, it leaves one feeling that this administration are professional contortonists for Cirque Du Soleil.

How Obama is seen in such a dichotomous way.

He ain't no out-of-the-closet socialist, for sure.
