In case anyone else missed it, new liberal talk station in Atlanta |
|
Not a huge coverage area - looks to be better than the old Air America affiliate. http://am1310theking.com/index.html

I usually listen to XM in my car, but I will tune into this station today to see if I can pick it up. Thanks for the heads up! :hi:

I saved the link - Good for Atlanta! Wish Pittsburgh would get a liberal station. Nothing but angry RW white men here except for a couple of hosts who either get Sunday or the infrequent fill-in gig.

3. Good location. My blue, blue county. |

How long will this last? Air America survived for about a year.
And how long before the Boortzian suburbs notice?

9. Guess no arrangement yet. |

Give these guys time!
Judging from their website, the station probably has naff-all budget, and basically hoping to make do with syndicated programming from Dial-Global and another syndicator. They used to be the Korean radio station, but the programming provider switched to another frequency on a more powerful daytime-only signal. As such, the station filed a silent station order, but fired back up once the syndication deal was put in place.
Mike Malloy self-syndicates. If the station owners and Mike Malloy hook up, I'm sure a deal can be done. However... night time coverage from this station is.... dreadful.

5. Unfortunately they seem to limit themselves only to Dial Global programming. |
|
relying on one network for content is how Air America affiliates got in trouble. It's good that Bill, Stephanie, Thom, and Ed will be heard in that market, but they really need to make room for Mike Malloy in their schedule, especially since it's an Atlanta station and he lives there.

10. WPBC vs WSB... signal wise no contest. |
|
Well, it is something I guess. Better than nowt. But then if you need progressive talk you're buying a satellite radio receiver or listening online. If Sirius/XM had some subscription-free channels - like their talk stations - then progressive talk would have a more even playing field.
