I loved Kucinich, but I didn't vote for him.
I may have been wrong, I may have sold out my core beliefts, and I am sure many here will feel that way. But some times I have to do things I am not particularly proud of.

I did not vote for him because I knew that he could not win. I wish it was not so, but I realize that I am really far left compared to the general population. Knowing this, I realize that I have to compromise on many issues to keep this country from slipping further backward.

I am one of the Professional Left. I will never be satisfied until our society has done away with all repressive and regressive policies. And I will keep fighting for what I believe, even if that means I step on toes. I will be vocal against policies that I want changed.

I have made peace with the fact that I am too far left to have a popular candidate who is electable. I deal with it. But I am not happy to have someone representing this administration criticize me for continuing to push for more. Yes, I am one of those people you were talking about, Mr. Gibbs. And I do not think that I am unreasonable.

1. I did, happily, in '04. One of the best votes I've ever cast.
I didn't in '08. He wasn't on the ballot by the time my primary rolled around in late May.

If I can't vote for the best candidate in a primary, when CAN I?

Rhetorical question, of course. I can vote for the best on the ballot in any election, and do.

3. Why didn't you vote for him in 2008? Same reason I had,
or the best candidate, in your opinion, was someone else?

5. He wasn't on the ballot. He, and everyone else but
HRC/Obama, dropped out 5 months before my primary.

Just asking.

6. The way I took that comment,
he was using the word "professional" to indicate the people who take things too seriously. I realize that there may be many connotations, but this is what I figured he was talking about.

7. Some of us might be rethinking our decisions to go with who we thought could win..in the future.
I know that I am. I voted for Compromise too many times in my life...and here we see what it got us.

Sometimes it's better to vote with your conscience. In the end the Compromised Person wins the Election...but we pay for it and feel guilty. I'd rather now vote for the alternative and sleep at night knowing I did what I could to really vote for change. If it didn't work out...it wasn't my fault.

8. So you don't think that if your ideas are too far from the norm
then you have to find the one who is more electable who is closer to your ideals than the others?

Oh, don't ask me, I didn't think Obama was electable. What do I know.

9. Not any more...not after this last choice.
It's become to painful to feel I've been responsible for bad choices.

10. Voted for him in '04 & '08.
And happy to do it.(That is why I switched to Dem from being a lifelong independent - to cast my vote for DK.)

11. Why do you believe Gibbs is talking about you?
What does "professional left" mean?

12. See #6. I explained my reasoning there. But...
I suppose that none of us know what "professional left" meant to him. Although that really doesn't matter to me, I was offended just the same. And as I pointed out, I will continue to be vocal against any injustice.
