Moonset over the Newberry Volcano rim last night - 8/12/10 (DIAL-UP WARNING)

I took these last night as the moon set over the Crater Buttes and the Newberry Volcano rim. They are a little grainy because I pushed the ISO up to 6400.

12. The Perseids were incredible from up here!

I turned off all the lights and went out on the catwalk at 10:30 PM and watched the sky toward Perseus and saw many shooting stars. Later, I got up at about 3:00 AM and went out again. OMG! It was too windy to try any long time exposures from the lookout, so I didn't get any photos.

17. Provided his paw is clean ..

I had to quarantine Nick on the catwalk for a while this evening. He had rolled in something foul. I used two precious 5-gal cubies of H2O and some Dawn foaming dish soap cleaning him up. Now, in addition to 11 days without a bath, I have other smelly issues. Gawd, I look forward to the Oxford Hotel on Monday.
