Presidents vacationing on the beach through the ages (yes they did)
I posted this to another thread. Thought we could make a point to the Republicans - yes presidents and their wives are allowed vacations on the beach! See the photos:-

1. Did you include the Dixie White House?

In 1880 President U.S. Grant stayed at Beaulieu (later referred to as the Dixie White House).
And in the winter of 1912-13 President Woodrow Wilson celebrated his 56th birthday at the residence.
The house was located on Scenic Drive in Pass Christian, Mississippi.

Historic Note: At the east side corner of Lang Avenue was located Beaulieu, later known as the Dixie White House, which was demolished due to heavy Hurricane Camille damages. It was so named for the 1913 health restoring visit by President Woodrow Wilson to the Pass, as well as visits by several other U.S. presidents. Woodrow Wilson and family were hosted by Miss Alice Herndon.

3. There's also a presidential house on Key West
although I think the last president to stay there was Truman.
