Mom 'groped' by Donald Duck sues Disney
A Pennsylvania mom is suing Walt Disney Parks and Resorts because she claims that she was inappropriately groped by a man dressed up in a Donald Duck costume.

April Magolon, 27, states in the suit filed in federal court that Donald Duck touched one of her breasts and continued to "molest her" when she approached him with her child for an autograph in May 2008 at Epcot Cneter, according to Philly.com.

Magolon claims to have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder as well as a number of other maladies including "severe physical injury," "muscle contraction headaches," "acute anxiety," "nausea," "cold sweats," "insomnia," "nightmares," "flashbacks," "digestive problems," and other conditions that are "permanent in nature." She is demanding $50,000 in damages.

"We've not seen the plaintiff's complaint and we will respond appropriately in court," Disney spokesman Bryan Malenius told Philly.com.

7. In other news.....
Daisy hires celebrity divorce lawyer and files for divorce. Says she will take wandering-hands Donald for everything he's got, including the shirt off his back. (If he had pants, she'd take them too.)

I've never understood why she stayed with Donald.

8. Stupidity and a waste of the court's time (on first read)
These people can barely MOVE in those suits. Can you see how large the costume (and gloves) are?

Seems to me to be a scam to sue for the sake of suing.

I reserve the right to be wrong if the actor turns out to be a perv, but PTSD along with "severe physical injury," "muscle contraction headaches," "acute anxiety," "nausea," "cold sweats," "insomnia," "nightmares," "flashbacks," "digestive problems," and other conditions that are "permanent in nature." ?

Please.

This only serves to water down cases of true abuse which a 10" long, 3" thick glove brushing against a breast is not.

10. I'm skeptical of her claim.
According to the article it happened in May of 2008. Why did she wait more than 2 years to file suit? If she can prove her case, then I'll take back what I said, but how is she going to prove that something happened 2 years ago. She should have filed a complaint the day it happened, and it would have given Disney the opportunity to investigate.

My guess is Disney will settle out of court anyway to avoid bad publicity.

16. I read somewhere that Disney never settles.
They always take it to court. I would on this one, if I were them. They've got a strong case.

20. Perhaps "and other conditions that are "permanent in nature.""
2 years and she is still supposedly 'traumatized'? That would lend to the permanent claim.

12. wow
I wonder if Donald 'actually 'felt' anything?

I assume she's never been on a crowded, standing room only, bus or rail car. Seriously, one can imagine all sorts of stuff from the driver braking too often, and people jostling around. Is there proof that she didn't suffer from all of those maladies prior to going to Disneyland?

BTW, how come we don't get to see a pic of this woman who inspired a Disney worker to feel her boob.

18. How can you tell it's a man in the suit?
OK, I know that probably doesn't make a difference to the gist of her claim, but still...

If she *assumed* it was a man, then she might also have *assumed* there was groping. Just sayin'.

IIRC, it's hard to see in that get-up AND the actors are not allowed to say anything.

29. I quite agree.
It seems it would be pretty hard to maneuver the hands accurately; seems like you wouldn't be able to feel anything they hit, plus that bill has got to interfere with your field of view.

24. Disney has had a colorful history in court, since it was built and they had the "tunnels"
Look it up. Charges of abuse, CIA child training, etc. They dismantled the tunnels years ago, and now you can tour through them, now known as the "casting tunnels", where snow white puts on her makeup etc. Lots of weird sex abuse cases relating the Disney, and Walt was a 33rd degree freemason. I would not even discuss it here.

33. Did these "tunnels" extend outside to underneath the parking lots?
Edited on Sat Aug-14-10 12:56 AM by GReedDiamond
Just wondering, cuz, back in 1977, my girlfriend and I were walking through the parking lot, after parking way back there in the back section, smoking a joint of thai stick as we approached the main entrance.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, we were surrounded by Disney Security. I instinctively swallowed the half-or-so joint, so, by the time they reached and detained us, we were "clean," so to speak.

They called in the Anaheim Police after one of the "security officers" picked up a (previously disposed of, long ago) cigarette butt/filter, sniffed it, and put it into a plastic bag.

We were released after they took our names and told us we were permanently banned from All Disney Facilities Throughout the Known Universe®...FOREVER!

I have since worked on Disney-produced movie projects, such as "Hannah Montana: The Movie," and visited the original Disneyland (where I was banned), several times over (reluctantly, for the the sake of the children).

Edited to add: On previous visits prior to this, without incident, my girlfriend and I would typically ingest psychedelics (shrooms) early into our visit to "The Magic Kingdom" and "Happiest Place on Earth," and smoke pot on the overhead "Matterhorn Mountain" cars, and/or the Monsanto sponsored ride where everybody got shrunk down to the size of a molecule or some shit...(a "ride" long since gone)...what the fuck, we were in our early 20s and we were invincible!

Those were the days...
