Hey, "Dr." Laura: I will always "demonize whites hating blacks".
It's called racism, and it is rightly demonized in all its forms, all throughout history. We need to exorcise these demons from our laws, our institutions, our societies, and from our own hearts and minds. As long as you insist on embracing your racism and bigotry, your hateful speech will be denounced as the destructive, demonic force that it is.

1. People like her, they want to take the word back so they can remain in the power position.

2. I think she said that wrong
what she meant was "the attempt to demonize ALL whites AS hating blacks".

As in the sense that if a white person asks a black person "Do black people really like doing that?" and you wanna jump all up and demonize a person who asks a question like that as some kind of vicious racist. Or the idea that there's a whole bunch of white people out there, like 50% of them who are scared of Obama. Or even saying "black person" instead of "African American". Or that the n-word means that a white person hates black people, but if a black person says it does it mean that he/she also hates black people?

3. It's all about that old adage of, "If Black folks can say it, why can't I?"

It is guaranteed that a lot of folks of color (including myself) get asked that question constantly whenever there is a multi-racial discussion of derogatory racial slurs.

(And then, some folks scream for the right to use "tar baby" because it's a southern euphemism without even noticing its caustic intent.)

It comes down to this main point:

Dr. Laura invoked her white privilege by saying something racially caustic and then trying to hide her intent of such usage. The sad thing is that it reveals her ugly side. And like I've said before, she can't put the genie back in the bottle. In the past, she could be subtly racist and then talk it down with euphemisms and coy laughter.

Now, people will remember that she used the n-word on her show with nothing hiding her racial animus.

The scary thing is that there are some of her fans who will defend her right to say such a word and that she's "not racist". The first thing out of their mouths would be that "racism doesn't exist anymore" and that we're in a "post-racial" America. And then, they'll scream, "Stop being in the past! That was a long time ago!" :eyes:
