Published: 5/15/07, 7:25 PM EDT
By LOLITA C. BALDOR
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Pentagon on Tuesday identified seven soldiers who are either missing or confirmed dead after a weekend ambush south of Baghdad.

Four soldiers were killed and three are missing and possibly abducted by al-Qaida. The Pentagon identified three of those killed, but is waiting for more testing before the identity of the fourth dead soldier can be confirmed. All were members of the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

Confirmed dead are: Sgt. 1st Class James D. Connell Jr., 40, of Lake City, Tenn.; Pfc. Daniel W. Courneya, 19, of Nashville, Mich.; and Pfc. Christopher E. Murphy, 21, of Lynchburg, Va.

The four other soldiers are: Sgt. Anthony J. Schober, 23, of Reno, Nev.; Spc. Alex R. Jimenez, 25, of Lawrence, Mass.; Pfc. Joseph J. Anzack Jr., 20, of Torrance, Calif.; and Pvt. Byron W. Fouty, 19, of Waterford, Mich. The Pentagon said one of those four was among the dead, but it could not confirm which one.

2. me too, Monkeyman...
I think it's time to cash in on those deferments of Cheney's, time to get the little war chimp to finish HIS service and time for Rush Limpballs to get up off his cyst & boil covered ass and serve his country. His ass can't hurt too bad right now, he sits on it and talks on the radio all day, he can tote an M-16 and fight in his war he champions...

13. You know, it's very strange that you mention that...
When I first saw it, my thought was "hmmm... I wonder if this guy was related to Falwell, and ol' Jerry had a heart attack when he found out the kid got killed." Of course, I just dismissed it in my mind as another "out there thought" that I have sometimes. I think of crazy stuff sometimes, but I usually know it's bullshit, I just like to see how far out there I can get sometimes, while still staying grounded in reality.

9. Al-Qaida?
Forgive me for being skeptical about the perpetrators. They only use that identification to invoke 9/11.

11. Remember the first day, when they were calling it an al-Qaida "front" group?
they spin that for a couple days, then just drop the "front group" part of, keeping al-Qaida and the "terraists" in the front of peoples brains.

Never mind the fact that this is the same area as the ambush last year, in retaliation for the rape and murder of 14 year old Abeer and her the murders of her family.

al-Qaida: Stop Search for U.S. Soldiers

"Published: 5/14/07, 12:05 PM EDT
By THOMAS WAGNER
BAGHDAD (AP) - An al-Qaida front group that claims it has captured American soldiers warned the United States on Monday to stop searching for them and suggested it attacked the U.S. convoy as revenge for the rape and murder of a local teenager last year.

The U.S. military also said for the first time it believes the three missing soldiers were abducted by al-Qaida-linked militants after an attack that included three roadside bombs.

"What you are doing in searching for your soldiers will lead to nothing but exhaustion and headaches. Your soldiers are in our hands. If you want their safety, do not look for them," the Islamic State of Iraq said on a militant Web site.

"You should remember what you have done to our sister Abeer in the same area," the statement said, referring to five American soldiers who were charged in the rape and killing of 14-year-old Abeer Qassim al-Janabi and the killings of her parents and her younger sister last year."

15. We need to design an MIA flag for these guys, and any (forbid) more
in the future. Things are going to get worse until we leave. What's so hard to understand about that? You understand it, I understand it.. almost everyone understands it... except for the people who have the power to stop it....

16. I can't help but wonder...
What are the loved ones of the four who is either dead or missing soldiers is wishing/praying for? The first instinct is to pray that they are one of the three missing. But knowing what was done to the last two that were taken alive I think I would be terrified to think that same thing could happen to my loved one.

Jesus, the torture the families must be going through.

BRING HOME THE TROOPS!
