Over at the exploding heads site (FR) they know nothing about the mosque at the Pentagon
Did a search there yesterday while they were all ranting and raving about Obama's statement re: GZ mosque, and in entering the terms "mosque pentagon", there is not a single post there about this.

Maybe someone should clue them in so they can hate the gubmint a bit more, or scream about/defend how THAT one doesn't matter

(Could they purposely be ignoring/deleting any stories about the Pentagon mosque since it DID open soon after 9/11 and WAS during the BuchCo Adoration Era?)

2. Someone built a mosque at the Pentagon?
How big is it? Is it a separate building? One of the five sides? Where does one find it?

4. Freepers, read and be educated......
The "desecration" began shockingly soon after the attacks. Cox reported in October 2001:

Army Chaplain Abdul-Rasheed Muhammad, the first Muslim chaplain to serve in the military, read a verse from the Koran at the memorial service at the Pentagon on Thursday, exactly one month after the attack. Muhammad, who became a chaplain eight years ago and works at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, ministered to rescuers in front of the smoldering Pentagon after the attack.

11. Disagree...credibility comes from showing the rest of the nation that the crazies are just that
Their lunacy is our opportunity and we should use it.

13. What Use, Sir, Do You Have In Mind To Make Of It?
It is an unfortunate fact that credibility tends to equate to decibel level multiplied by duration....

9/11 is a scar on the psyche to most Americans. Its easy for them to reflexivey vilify muslims based on what happened.

I take the calm approach, explain the "mosque in the Pentagon" is a prayer room. I also point out the the US was based on religious freedoms and if we forsake our roots and curtail freedoms in that area, the terrorists have indeed won. My closing thoughts I often use is that one does not have to like islam to allow its practitioners the same freedoms as the rest of us. Its a high road approach and it generally works pretty well.

I have been asked if I am a muslim or support islam sometimes in those discussion. I clearly state that I think of the world's major religions as practiced today it is the single largest threat to civil rights, liberties and freedoms we all hold dear, but despite that I still support their freedom to worship and build churches.
